Losing the Moral High Ground

Dr. Michael Kruger, Professor of New Testament at Reformed Theological Seminary, notes that the days of the “moral majority” in America are not in the past, as some may think. Rather, a new moral majority has arisen on the left, and has redefined morality. Kruger argues that this new morality is both inconsistent and intellectually lacking. He writes:

In the end, the new moral majority finds itself in an awkward, and intellectually indefensible position. They need a transcendent God in order for moral norms to exist, yet they are working at every turn against God’s role in the public sphere. Moreover, they are advocating a behavior (e.g., homosexual marriage) that is rejected by every major theistic religion.
