Pastor Isaac Hunter Denies Wife’s Allegations of Domestic Abuse

On 28 November, Isaac Hunter resigned from his position as pastor of Summit Church in Orlando after admitting that he had an affair with a former staff member. As was previously reported, two days following the resignation, Hunter’s wife filed and was granted a domestic violence petition and restraining order against her husband. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Hunter swiftly denied his wife’s allegations of abuse:

Isaac Hunter issued a statement late Tuesday afternoon denying his wife’s allegations that he posed a threat to her and their children.

“Never in my life have I threatened to harm my children in any way. Nor have I ever lifted a hand against my wife, harmed her physically, or threatened to do so,” said Isaac, 35, the son of megachurch pastor the Rev. Joel Hunter.
