“Despite the involvement of abortion in the story, Klavan and the creators were steadfast in their determination to create a non-political film, one motivated not by agenda but rather by the sometimes jaw-dropping details in the Gosnell case.”
Andrew Klavan on Writing ‘Gosnell’: ‘Minute I Heard About It, I Wanted to Do It’
LifeZette spoke to the ‘True Crime’ author about being a conservative entertainer and the controversial film.
“The minute I heard about it, I wanted to do it,” writer Andrew Klavan … told LifeZette by phone about how he got involved in crafting the upcoming “Gosnell.”
The film tells the true story of Kermit Gosnell, an abortion doctor who was convicted in 2013 on three counts of first degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter. Actor Dean Cain (shown above left) appears in the film.
After Gosnell’s clinic was raided on a suspicion that drugs were being dealt there, authorities discovered what was described by some as a “house of horrors.”
Gosnell not only had an unsanitary lab and an untrained staff — but he was performing very late-term abortions. He reportedly even cut the necks of living babies.
The mainstream media largely ignored his story because of Gosnell’s chosen profession — which makes his story all the more outrageous.
