Jen Hatmaker once wrote that Jesus came to affirm the LGBTQ community (here). That statement affirms that this pastor’s wife is not a Bible believing Christian. As I’ve said before, “Jen has both feet firmly planted in Religious Left ideology.” She and her husband Brandon, a pastor, deny the biblical teaching on marriage, sexuality and family. So it should come as no surprise that one of their five children, Sydney, came out as a lesbian. The mother of the lesbian remarked in her announcement: “As it comes to gay kids and adults, your job, when it comes to church, is to go to a safe one. That’s your only job.” No, Mrs. Hatmaker. Your job as a Christian parent is to attend a Bible believing/teaching church….
A church where the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed from the pulpit by a straight male pastor. Where the Truth is rightly divided. Where the sacraments are a part of the Church service — that would be holy communion and baptism. Also–progressives will find this tough to swallow because they reject the clear teaching of God’s Word–where Church discipline is practiced.
So, with this backdrop in place, read snippets of Jen Hatmaker’s announcement over at PNP:
Evangelical darling Jen Hatmaker, who came out in full support of LGBTQQIP2SAA rights in 2016, then went radio silent, released a podcast today where she introduced her daughter Sydney to the world and announced that her daughter is a lesbian and that Jen Hatmaker couldn’t be more proud and thrilled that she’s gay.
In the podcast, Hatmaker interviews her daughter on what it’s like growing up gay in their evangelical childhood, and Sydney and her mom both say a bunch of extremely unbiblical, anti-christal things. We’ve collected a few quotes here: Mostly from Jen.
“I wouldn’t change one ounce of who she is. Not a molecule. Not a moment. The only thing I would change in our story, is I wish I could go back and shake myself to life sooner- well, well, well, before. I wish I could have said “hey, I wonder if this is a theology that you could examine just for the sake of the entire community, what are your eyes and your ears telling you about the suffering that unnafirming theology causes”
