Donald Trump Jr. posted on X, formerly Twitter, that that “An AK-47 was discovered in the bushes, per local law enforcement. … A suspect has reportedly been apprehended.”
(Newsmax) President Trump is safe after what was described as a “security incident” near his West Palm Beach golf club.
“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity,” Steven Cheung, a spokesman for Trump said. He said no further details will be provided.
Early reports were conflicting.
The New York Post cited sources that indicate the gunfire was not aimed at Trump but involved two others who police are tracking.
But CNN reported: “Officials believe the shots fired at Trump International Golf Club were intended for former President Donald Trump, according to sources familiar on the matter.”
