Americans of a certain age (mine) have now had the misfortune of having lived through the two worst presidents in the history of the Republic. While it is true that people from the late 1860s would no doubt make a case to get Andrew Johnson on the list, most Americans who are alive today are comfortable with James Earl Carter and Joseph Robinette Biden occupying the top two spots.
Now, Carter has entered eternity, and the accolades of men will avail him nothing. The Nobel Peace Prize on his mantle, the global adulation for his humanitarian efforts, and his carefully curated image as a “devout Christian”—none of it can shield him from the dreadful reality of hearing the words of Matthew 7:23: “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.” — The Dissenter
