“Of course it’s not surprising to see that description given by Phil Pringle – given these ‘major (super) apostles’ have long been claiming an ‘apostolic anointing’ for themselves.”
(Churchwatch Central) Invited to preach at a recent Hillsong service, Phil Pringle described his close friends, Brian and Bobbie Houston, as ‘major apostles’. Of course this is ‘major’ New Apostolic Reformation terminology. This description comes from a man also described as an ‘apostle’ within his own C3Global movement.
It would be more correct to substitute the words ‘major apostles’ for the biblical description ‘super apostles’ – the words used by the Apostle Paul to call out false teachers in Corinth.
“For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.” 2 Corinthians 11:4-6
