Leading Cause of Death in 2018 Surpasses Cancer, Addiction — and It’s Not Even Close

“The 41.9 million figure comes from abortion statistics published by the World Health Organization. In 2018, 23 percent of all pregnancies ended in abortion, Breitbart reports, adding that for every 33 live births, 10 children were aborted.”

(Carly Hoilman – Faithwire)  Nearly 42 million human beings were aborted last year, according to Worldometers. Statistics from the independent data collecting site show abortion to be the leading cause of death in 2018, dwarfing other prominent killers like cancer, AIDS, car accidents and suicide, Life News reported.

Worldometers compiles its figures using data from world governments and other prominent global organizations. And while the group doesn’t include abortion in its calculations for total deaths in 2018 — 59 million — a Breitbart analysis of the report puts the abortion numbers in perspective.

“As of December 31, 2018, there have been some 41.9 million abortions performed in the course of the year, Worldometers revealed,” writes Thomas D. Williams, PhD. “By contrast, 8.2 million people died from cancer in 2018, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million died of HIV/AIDS.”  View article →
