Francis Chan actually calls communion ‘the Eucharist’

“So what’s going on with Francis Chan and Catholicism? Whatever it is, it’s been going on for a while now. One of the most telling incidents occurred at IHOP-KC’s Onething Conference.”

(John Lanagan – The Word Like Fire)  In January of 2020, Francis Chan gave a sermon where he apparently accepted the Catholic view of communion that the bread and wine are literally the body and blood of Christ.

As it turns out, in an interview with Carey Nieuwhof in early January 2020, Chan went one step further. He actually called communion “the Eucharist”:

Carey: Can you give me an example of an ancient tradition that is capturing your attention?

Francis Chan: Okay. Okay. One of the things, like with the offerings. I’m reading a lot of things they do in preparation for the Eucharist, of actually taking the body and the blood. (emphasis mine) [2]  [For full 26 page interview go to link at end of article]  View article →
