I’ve warned many times that Jim Wallis is one of the most dangerous wolves in Progressive (Social Justice) “Christianity.” Wallis wears many hats, including minister. He’s the founder and (was) the editor of the uber liberal/socialist Sojourners Magazine. Wallis has authored many books, he’s a sought after speaker and an activist. At one time Rev. Wallis was former president Barack Obama’s “spiritual advisor.” That alone speaks volumes. Wallis abandoned the biblical gospel for the “social gospel” long ago. He insists he’s a Christian and believes he’s on a mission from God to assist the poor and oppressed to bring forth the Kingdom of God on earth. Keeping Jim Wallis’ background in mind, read Aysha Khan’s piece over at RNS (a site we do not endorse). Khan writes:
The progressive Christian magazine Sojourners has replaced founder and President Jim Wallis as editor in chief and announced a new policy of editorial independence from the organization’s advocacy work.
The decision came after weeks of turmoil over Wallis’ removal of an essay criticizing white supremacists within the Catholic Church, which led two staffers of color to resign from the magazine.
Wallis, a prominent progressive theologian and activist who has also written for RNS, will continue to serve as president of the Sojourners organization, the magazine announced Friday afternoon (Aug. 14). He had served as a leader at the magazine since its founding in 1971 as the Post-American.
