When you go woke, your theology gets broke

39 And He went a little beyond them, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will.” Matthew 26:39 (NASB)

A few months ago, on Good Friday, Dr. Josh Buice posted the following on Twitter:

As we behold the slain Christ on the cruel cross on this Good Friday, we must never forget the truth!

Jesus was not the victim of injustice.

Jesus was the predestined substitute for sinners crushed under the wrath of the Father in order to fulfill holy justice. Isaiah 53:10

Here is Isaiah 53:10:

10 But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand. Isaiah 53:10 (NASB)

This started a firestorm reaction from several theologians from the largest SBC Seminaries such as Southern, Southeastern, and Southwestern.  Others who objected were pastors. What was their complaint? They accused Dr. Buice of heresy because his doctrinally correct statement violated their wokism theology that sees everything through the eyes of Critical Race Theory, that is, Social Justice. Their responses to this statement even showed that they no longer had a clear understanding of the doctrine of the Trinity. View article →
