The Patience of Faith

With my ongoing recovery from my stroke [Mike had a stroke in April], and all that goes with that, I have found myself severely limited as far as resources and time in developing these posts. Things that I could handle in just a few minutes only a couple of weeks ago now seem to consume all my time. I sometimes feel like I have been demoted to the status of the youngest, least trusted child. As I stated in yesterday’s post, this is most definitely a faith step. Today I would like to post this devotional by Oswald Chambers from “My Utmost for His Highest for I agree that what has happened to me is part of God’s plan of stretching me and changing me for His purposes, for His glory. – Mike Ratliff

“Because thou hast kept the word of My patience.” Revelation 3:10

Patience is more than endurance. A saint’s life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the saint cannot see, and He stretches and strains, and every now and again the saint says – “I cannot stand any more.” God does not heed, He goes on stretching till His purpose is in sight, then He lets fly. Trust yourself in God’s hands. For what have you need of patience just now? Maintain your relationship to Jesus Christ by the patience of faith. “Though He slay me, yet will I wait for Him.”  View article →
