There are a gazillion reasons why Mormons, including Glenn Beck, are not Christians. Discerning Christians are fully aware that Mormonism is a pseudo-Christian cult. Clearly Jason Whitlock, who is well-meaning, is undiscerning and he’s unteachable to boot! For starters, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) deny fundamental Christian doctrine including the Trinity, and blatantly manipulate the scriptures to fit their own narrative. Moreover, they teach that salvation is by grace plus works. The Mormon Church teaches the outright heresy that people can become gods and goddesses which is a lie from the pit of hell. So how can Jason Whitlock believe Glenn Beck, who is a Mormon in good standing, is a “Christian brother”? It is a fact that the Mormon Church teaches that God was once a man…who inhabited another planet…who became a God…and had a wife…and we all are literally born in heaven as spirit brothers and sisters and then inhabit human bodies on earth.
From the Church’s perspective, which is what really matters, a true believer will not deviate from the historic, orthodox teachings in the Bible, which is the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God. All pseudo-Christian cults, such as Mormonism, deny the essentials of the faith. Glenn Beck is fully aware of this. After reading Protestia’s piece and the Whitlock/Beck emails, return to CRN and read our white paper on Mormonism as it clearly lays out why Mormons are NOT Christians.
(Protestia) As the Fearless Army: Roll Call 2.0 event draws closer we become more and more bothered by it and the message it is sending to both Christians and Latter Day Saints, with recently unearthed messages from event organizer Jason Whitlock doing little to assuage our concerns.
The conference exists because “Jason Whitlock and John Rich believe the best way to close the divides tearing America apart is to bring men together under the umbrella of worship, reverence, and song honoring our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” and the conference is “designed to inspire men to put aside superficial differences [ecumenism] and serve our shared Creator.”
