Francis Chan Puts Out New Movie Promoting Unity Between Protestants, Catholics, Orthodox

“This trajectory didn’t just begin yesterday. People who have been paying attention saw this coming a long time ago. We watched Chan rebuke men for evangelizing Roman Catholics. We watched him remove his shoes and sit on stage while Catholic priests prayed over him. We watched him refuse to preach the Gospel clearly to Roman Catholics because he supposedly didn’t feel “led” by the Holy Spirit to do so….”

(The Dissenter) For years now, I’ve been warning people about Francis Chan. Not because I enjoy watching men slide into rank apostasy. I don’t. Frankly, it’s depressing. Francis Chan once occupied a space in evangelicalism where many Christians trusted him instinctively.

A graduate of Master’s Seminary, Francis Chan came out of John MacArthur’s orbit. He spoke passionately about holiness, about radical Christianity, about taking God seriously in an age drunk on entertainment and celebrity fluff. A lot of people assumed that because he sounded intense, because he cried on stage, because he talked about surrender and prayer and sacrifice, he must therefore be doctrinally solid.

But passion is not discernment. Tears are not theology. Sincerity is not truth. View article →

CRN has compiled a list of false teachers and several other professing Christians we’ve warned you about over the years. The list also contains those we must keep an eye on plus movements, organizations and “frauds, phonies and money-grubbing religious quacks” to mark and avoid as per Romans 16:17-18 such as Francis Chan.
