(The Dissenter) If one were to peruse the chronicles of biblical history, one might find unsettling parallels between the accounts of Sodom and Gomorrah and the state of modern America. Cities fraught with vice, idolatry, and abject disregard for God’s law, Sodom and Gomorrah were cautionary warnings of what ensues when a society unreservedly embraces immorality. God’s judgment was swift and unflinching—the cities were reduced to ashes as a divine declaration against sexual sin.
Today, the ominous echoes of Sodom and Gomorrah reverberate ominously in our nation. The recent tweet by the U.S. Department of Education, proudly supporting Pride Month and unequivocally pledging support for LGBTQI+ students, teachers, and staff, can only be seen as a distressing sign of a nation drifting further into sexual anarchy and God’s judgment.
