The title for the Lord Jesus, “The Alpha and the Omega” is in Revelation 1:8, 11; 21:6; 22:13. Alpha is ἄλφα (alpha) and Omega is ὦ (ō), which are, of course, the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. This year, 2020, we have seen massive lockdowns in our society due to the reactions in our governments due to the Covid-19 “pandemic.” A few states have opened things up some, some a little bit, some not much at all. For instance, here in Oklahoma I can take my family to a some restaurants and we can sit inside, but they make everyone “social distance.” There are no condiments on the tables. One form of religion that claims to be Christian but isn’t is based in something called “no Lordship” or “easy-believism.” On the other hand, many of the proponents of it will point to what we call “the Gospel” in what follows as the “damnable heresy” of Lordship salvation.
