The Spirit Bill Johnson wants you to follow

“Bethel Redding children’s pastor Seth Dahl claimed that in a vision Christ came to him Jesus picked him up, began to weep, and asked his forgiveness for what another pastor did by hurting him. A false vision then is the Truth – not the Bible. No passage in the Bible shows Christ asking us to forgive Him, He is perfect and sinless, he is God.”

(Let Us Reason)  If one is driving on the wrong side of the road they will get a fine. If the driver continues driving like this his license is taken away. Spiritually speaking, Bill Johnson’s answer is “I’m not on the wrong side of the Road you are.”

His is perfect example calling what is dark as being light.

I say this because many do understand basic Scripture, the word that counters his particular view of Christianity that he with others have made popular.

He says “A powerless Word is the letter not the Spirit. And we all know, ‘The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.’” (When Heaven Invades Earth 116).

Did not Jesus say The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. Meaning if you read the word you are reading what the holy Spirit is saying. Didn’t Jesus also say If you love me you will continue in my word?

If one reads further in In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul is speaking of the new covenant compared to the old – the Law, written on tablets of stone. Paul explains further in Romans 7: and 8:2 for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.

Johnson insinuates the powerless word is the Bible, what is written. That the Spirit overrules the word. There is no such dichotomy presented. The Spirit wrote the word through men so we would ALL have the same instructions throughout the centuries.

But in reality, the Bible is a closed book. Anything I get from the Word without God will not change my life. It is closed to insure that I remain dependent on the Holy Spirit.” (When Heaven Invades Earth: A Practical Guide to a Life of Miracles p.93) View article →
