God Doesn’t Make Peace With His Enemies

“Jesus told us to love our enemies, but they are still our enemies. They are not our friends. We are called to destroy their worldview: We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).”

One of the major recent developments in the Evangelical Church today is a movement to build bridges between people with opposing views on issues. A primary proponent of that movement is a group called the And Campaign. The And Campaign says they seek to promote civic and community engagement in a way that “reflects Jesus Christ.”

But is this what Jesus came to do? Here is what Jesus said he came to do…

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” –Matthew 10:34  View article →
