Joining forces with people in the ecumenical movement for the sake of unity can cause spiritual harm

Featured

By Marsha West

Christians cannot take that good impulse and then baptize an ecumenical mess where Protestants, Rome, hyper-charismatic prophets-for-profit, Jews, and whatever other religious representatives happen to be available all join hands as though we are praying to the same God through the same mediator with the same gospel. We are not. ~  The Dissenter

I’m taking a well-deserved victory lap here. In 2010, I alerted my readers that NAR wolves were infiltrating what was then known as the Religious Right. The scent of a wolf is easy to detect, even when you’re not sniffing around. I was not. Yet there they were, roaming around the grounds of the White House and scratching at the back door, hoping that someone from the kitchen staff would open it and whisk them inside.

Wolves Are Inside The House!

I’ll begin this piece with a warning: There is a war going on in America that you may not have heard about. No, not a war with a Middle Eastern enemy. The conflict is between two opposing factions of what has been dubbed Christian Nationalism. It’s a long story—too lengthy to explain here–so for now I’ll whittle it down to a single issue: ecumenism.

In short, ecumenism is “achieving universal church unity,” the goal being to set aside differences of which there are many and promote unity among the world’s Christian churches. According to GotQuestions.com:

Ecumenism can also be defined more broadly: “a movement that promotes worldwide unity among all religions through greater cooperation.” For example, a Catholic priest may invite a Muslim imam to speak in his pulpit, or a church may get together with a Hindu temple to hold a joint prayer service. Defined this way, ecumenism is definitely wrong. We are not to be “yoked together with unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 6:14; see also Galatians 1:6–9). Light and darkness have no fellowship with each other.

The Religion of Do

7 Now when he saw many of the Pharisees, and of the Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath forewarned you to flee from the anger to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruit worthy amendment of life, 9 And think not to say with yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able even of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. 10 And now also is the axe put to the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Matthew 3:7-10 (1599 Geneva Bible)

Several years ago I watched a special on the National Geographic Channel about a small group of people who absolutely refuse to believe that NASA landed men on the Moon in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. I graduated from High School in May 1969 and I remember very well watching the lift off of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. I watched the coverage of the mission from end to end. Then several years later when these accusations came out from these skeptics, I was astounded. Continue reading

Candace Owens vs. Andrew Wilson: Debate Review

“In the most aggressive point in the debate, Andrew Wilson makes an attempt to force Candace Owens to defend her conspiracy mongering at the 2:34:00 timestamp: “Do you actually believe that anybody in TPUSA or Erika Kirk […] actually participated, had foreknowledge of, or facilitated the murder of Charlie Kirk?” This was an excellent way to put the question to Candace, such that she’d have no choice but to take a stand one way or the other….”

(Evangelical Dark Web) On August 14, 2026 at 11:00 AM (EDT), Candace Owens finally sat down to defend her alternative theories regarding the Charlie Kirk shooting with Christian ethicist and prolific debater Andrew Wilson. We covered the ongoing saga of this on again, off again debate here. To this point, Ms. Owens has refused any sort of public debate on the topic, only agreeing to it now after Wilson and Brian Atlas (Whatever Podcast) both kicked in $150K for the opportunity to sit down for 3.5 hours to debate “Tyler Robinson: Guilty or Patsy?”. Instead of Joe Rogan or Michael Knowles, it would be moderated by Patrick Bet-David. We did a live reaction thread to the debate on X that you can find here, which may be helpful to you if you’re watching after the fact. Continue reading

Christian Conference Hosted By Allie Beth Stuckey Charges $5000 For VIP Package

“It’s the Gold and Platinum VIP add-ons that are raising eyebrows, at a whopping $740.74 for gold VIP and an eye-watering $5,128.21 for the platinum, not including ticket price.”

(Protestia) Allie Beth Stuckey is a conservative  Christian commentator who hosts the  podcast Relatable, where she “analyzes news, culture, theology, and politics from a Christian, conservative perspective.”

She is the author of two books: You’re Not Enough (& That’s Okay) and Toxic Empathy, and she speaks regularly to “organizations, churches, and students about the importance of Christian political engagement, defending the Biblical worldview, championing the pro-life cause, and combating the lies of progressivism.” Continue reading

Have You Lost the Love You Had at First?

1 Now the word of Yahweh came to me saying, 2 “Go and call out in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I remember concerning you the lovingkindness of your youth, The love of your betrothals, Your walking after Me in the wilderness, Through a land not sown. 3 Israel was holy to Yahweh, The first of His produce. All who ate of it became guilty; Evil came upon them,” declares Yahweh.’” Jeremiah 2:1-3 (LSB)

Christian, think back to those early days of your walk with the Lord. Your entire value system seemed to be turned upside-down. You loved God and your devotion to your Savior was the most important thing in your life. Old sins had no power over you. You were full of joy and wanted only to serve the Lord Jesus with your all…. Speaking of Tongues…

(Amy Spreeman – Berean Research) I recently received a letter from a women’s ministry asking about speaking in tongues, after several of the group’s members discussed their own personal experiences praying to God in a private prayer language. Additionally, because the New Testament seems to be encouraging tongue-speaking in church, they asked if this gift was still alive and practiced biblically today. Great questions!

Tongues that sound like unintelligible speech or gibberish became popular in the late 1800s with the rise of Pentecostal and Charismatic movements, after many centuries in which the Church was largely silent regarding such practices. Continue reading

What is Genuine Repentance?

1 Now at that same time there were some present who were reporting to Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you think that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered these things? 3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. 4 Or do you think that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse offenders than all the men who live in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” Luke 13:1-5 (LSB)

Not long ago I became involved in discussion on a blog that was proclaiming that it is perfectly fine for Christians to use profanity and those who call them on it are being hypocritical and self-righteous. I have been teaching for quite a while that the genuine believer is regenerate, a new creation, whom God is in the process of sanctifying. Our humility must come to predominate our pride…. Exposing Samuel Rodriguez, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference: An Open Borders NGO

With Christian Post, there appear to be few illegal aliens unworthy of amnesty, as even criminal records do not merit deportation automatically.”

(Ray Fava) Evangelical Dark Web has long been calling out Christian Post for promoting amnesty. This week, they attacked the Trump administration for immigration enforcement with hypocritical standards. The key figure involved is Samuel Rodriguez, a Pentecostal (Assemblies of God) pastor of who has gone to great lengths to enhance his own reputation. So what began as a standard Christian media watchdog, has through research exposed an open-borders profiteer masquerading as a Christian leader. Continue reading

Can We Get Over John Piper Already?

“Christ is the head of the church. The church does not need popes, cardinals, celebrity theologians, or anyone else to stand in that role. The ordinary ministry of the word is within the context of the local church and faithful preaching.”

(The Dissenter) It seems that over the last several years, Evangelicalism has taken a sharp turn in leadership, leaving many empty chairs that were once filled with prominent voices. I think this turn started in 2017 when we lost R.C. Sproul. He was a voice the church looked to for clarity on anything from cultural issues to sound doctrinal discernment. Continue reading

They who are demons seduce men away from Jesus Christ: The raging spiritual war between good and evil

(Linda Kimball – Renew America) “They who are called devils (demons; fallen powers) attempt…to seduce men from God who made them, and from Christ His first-begotten.” Justin Martyr, 2nd century A.D., Apology 58. (Crucial Questions About Spiritual Warfare, Clinton E. Arnold, p. 40)

The devils put forward Marcion of Pontus (a Gnostic teacher), who (teaches) men to deny God is the maker of all things in heaven and on earth, and that the Christ predicted by the prophets is His Son and preaches another god…and likewise another son.” Justin Martyr, 2nd century A.D., Apology 58

From the RCC to the Protestant, Evangelical, and Orthodox Church, devils have been bringing forth many false shepherds and teachings of demons to lead Christians away into sin, unbelief, the occult, the UFO religion, and other false teachings. Continue reading

Heresy of the Day: Generational Curses

“This gives false teachers like Kathryn Krick enormous power. They supposedly have the spiritual gift to locate and detect these invisible spirits, communicate directly to them, revoke their “legal rights,” and pronounce the victim free. But if the problem continues, which it always does, the victim returns for another session rather than questioning the false teaching.”

(The Dissenter) I recently saw a video clip of false teacher Kathryn Krick claiming to free a woman of the “generational curses” of abuse, and it was difficult to watch. The woman was obviously hurt, sad, and noticeably emotional. And here was Krick, exploiting this poor woman for personal gain, while claiming “power” over the evil spirits that have entered her as a result of her childhood abuse. Continue reading

What Must I Do To Inherit Eternal Life?

17 And as He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and began asking Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Mark 10:17 (LSB)

The natural man cannot conceive of eternal life coming to anyone who does not “earn” or somehow “deserve” it. Jesus’ teaching set the record straight, but many today still do not regard what He said. Even preachers and religious leaders have bent the truth and twisted it in such a way so as to provide a way for professing believers to have a “work” they could point back to that marks them as having done that one thing that enables them to inherit eternal life…. 1967’s ‘Summer of Love’; or was it the summer of hate?

“The truth of it is, the entire movement was demonic. The youth did drop out, of society, of college, from families. They wandered, spiritually and physically, into new realms. Realms of depravity such as experimenting with homosexuality and lesbianism. Realms of mind-altering drugs. Realms of different living situations such as polygamy or ‘free love’ communes.”

(Elizabeth Prata – The End Time) It happened 59 years ago. It was summer, flower children ‘hippies’ were on the rise, the Viet Nam war had become full blown, and an entire subculture was born. It was dubbed the “Summer of Love”.

The generation born Post-WWII in the late 1940s and 1950s and their parents experienced economic prosperity, technological advances, and a feeling of hopefulness since the dark World War was ended. Continue reading

Dumb People

“The pursuit of happiness will not be enhanced by a vengeful political movement which wants to regulate how we live and what we are allowed to have. That’s a totalitarian point of view. Adolf, Joe Stalin, Mao, Ho Chi Minh all tried it as they blood-soaked their countries.”

(Bill O’Reilly) Rudeness alert!  No hiding from this one. There are far too many ignorant folks in the USA.  The bad guys know this and are enabled by it.

Here’s a suggestion.  Columbia University should require every student to take a semester in Cuba.  I’ve been.  It’s harrowing there—incredible poverty, no freedom.  Fidel the communist imposed a doomsday scenario on his own people.  It worked.

At least the radical students could absorb the “collective warmth” as Mamdani described socialist/communist governance. And it is very warm in Havana. Few Cubans can afford air conditioning. View article →

From where does faith come and to whom does it belong?

2 This is the only thing I want to learn from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? 4 Did you suffer so many things for nothing—if indeed it was for nothing? 5 So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? Galatians 3:2-5 (LSB)

When it comes to Justification by God of His people, shouldn’t the clutter be removed and the rubbish swept away? All aspects of our salvation should be clarified and those things that are only meant to cause confusion or misdirection (showing those with discernment their true source) should be shown for what they really are and cast aside…. Kayleigh McEnany’s Inside Story With Fauci Will Leave You Furious

“The COVID-19 pandemic feels like a fever dream now. Six years later, it’s almost impossible to believe any of it actually happened: the lockdowns, the shuttered schools, the toilet paper craze, the stupid barriers at supermarkets, the masked toddlers, and the businesses destroyed overnight.”

(Matt Margolis – PJ Media) Kayleigh McEnany spent the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic just steps from Dr. Anthony Fauci while serving as White House press secretary during President Donald Trump’s first term. Now, after digging into Fauci’s newly revealed diaries, she says the American people got played. Continue reading

AI Just Created Viruses Never Before Seen On Earth

“While the Arc Institute researchers took strict safety measures, watchdogs warn the core technology opens the door to danger. If an AI can master whole-genome design to construct bacteria-killers, it could be only a matter of time before high-tech bad actors attempt to prompt similar language models to invent hyper-lethal, highly transmissible human plagues.”

(Hank Berrien – Daily Wire) Artificial intelligence has taken another step into synthetic biology, with researchers using a powerful AI model to design functional viruses from scratch in a breakthrough that could advance medicine while raising new biosecurity concerns.

In a study published Thursday, researchers at Stanford University and California’s Arc Institute said they used an AI model called Evo to engineer brand new viral genomes. The model was trained on trillions of genetic building blocks, teaching it the complex hidden “grammar” of natural DNA. Continue reading

Therefore Repent

19 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, 21 whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. Acts 3:19-21 (LSB)

One form of religion that claims to be Christian but isn’t is based in something called “no Lordship” or “easy-believism.” On the other hand, many of the proponents of it will point to what we call “the Gospel” in what follows as the “damnable heresy” of Lordship salvation…. Continue reading

Bethel Church Suspends Sale of Passion Translation

“If leadership believed TPT was a faithful rendering of the Word of God, they would defend it. If they believed Simmons was exposed as a fraud, they would renounce it. Instead, they chose the third way beloved by every compromised institution under heat: delay, reframe, and hope the news cycle moves.

(Evangelical Dark Web) Bethel Church finally hit pause on The Passion Translation. The Redding machine that spent years treating Brian Simmons’ paraphrase like fresh manna just announced it will stop selling the thing in its stores until it gets “additional clarity.”

Here is the full statement from Bethel’s leadership: Continue reading

Is This How Socialism Comes to America? Tucker Carlson and the Splintering of the GOP.

“[Tucker] and the MAGA rebels who met on his estate in Maine over the weekend seem eager to split the Republicans. They have no chance whatsoever of electing anyone on a third-party ballot line. So the effect on the U.S. will be to elect more Democrats to Congress.”

(Rick Moran – PJ Media) Enough has been written about Tucker Carlson’s transformation from an establishment conservative to a populist firebrand that I don’t feel like I have to go over it again. I will say that I believe this transformation was legitimate and not an affectation or a gambit to make money. Continue reading

The Democrat Establishment Is Freaking Out Right Now

(Matt Margolis – PJ Media) NBC News projected early Wednesday that Abdul El-Sayed defeated Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the state’s Democrat senatorial primary. Our partner DDHQ has also just called the race. Establishment Democrats are freaking out right now.

Bernie Sanders’ organization Our Revolution also declared victory in the race. “Last night, Michigan delivered one of the clearest messages of this election cycle: people power can beat big money,” Joseph Geevarghese, Executive Director of Our Revolution, said in a statement…. Continue reading

The American Civil Religion Invokes Isaiah’s “Send Me” to Recruit Soldiers to Foreign Wars

(The Dissenter) There’s distasteful. There’s absolutely vile and disgusting. And then there’s this.

Blasphemy!

Apparently, the Pentagon is no longer satisfied with recruiting soldiers on behalf of the United States government and is now recruiting them on behalf of God.

Posted by Sean Parnell:

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8

At least, that’s the ploy. Continue reading

There are only two groups of people in the world; there are Christians, the elect, and everyone else

21 Therefore Yahweh heard and was full of wrath; And a fire was kindled against Jacob And anger also mounted against Israel, 22 Because they did not believe in God And did not trust in His salvation. Psalms 78:21-22 (LSB)

There are only two groups of people in the world. There are Christians, the elect, and everyone else, the non-elect. What separates them? What is the difference? It is not that different streams of faith, which are all equal and going to the same place. No, that is what the progressive Christians are selling, but that is most definitely not what God’s Word explicitly says…. Continue reading

Should We ‘Forgive and Forget’ When It Comes to COVID-Era Sins?

“Following the collapse of vaccine mandates in early 2022, a rapid memory-holing of the entire fiasco took effect. Unfortunately, many Christian leaders who have had ample time to repent of closing their churches, going along with senseless lockdowns, and pushing the vaccine on their congregants have also been noticeably quiet in the years since.”

(David Harris – TruthScript) On a pristine spring Sunday morning in 2020, our church leadership met before people started arriving for service. There was tension in the air. No one quite knew what to expect, as we were potentially violating recent New York mandates concerning gatherings of more than 10 people…. Continue reading

There is only one Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ

8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to the gospel we have proclaimed to you, let him be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is proclaiming to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be accursed! 10 For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a slave of Christ. 11 For I make known to you, brothers, that the gospel which I am proclaiming as good news is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:8-12 (LSB)

The title of this article may surprise many. I have been in “conversation” on this topic for last several days with many who disagree that there is only one gospel. Their stance is that no one can know everything about the gospel. We must be tolerant of others’ views of salvation because the gospel is inherently unknowable. Before our Lord saved me, I may have bought that argument, but not anymore. Our God is a very precise God who does things His way in His timing and always for His glory. Continue reading
