Fidel Castro May Be Dead, but Tyranny Remains in Cuba

Ana Quintana is a policy analyst for Latin America and the Western Hemisphere in The Heritage Foundation.  Ana is a first-generation Cuban American who knows this story “all too well.” Her piece is posted over at The Daily Signal.  She writes:

CommunismLate Friday evening, Cuban state media reported the death of their former leader, Fidel Castro, at age 90. Some will mourn his passing or even glorify his life. But for many others, not even his death will fill the void caused by his life.

For over five decades, Cubans suffered under the tyranny of Fidel and then his brother Raul, now 85. They watched the regime destroy a country and export the same perverted model of social justice throughout the developing world.

My grandfather would often tell us of how he would hide indoors while Fidel’s firing squads would slaughter innocent people nearby.

Religion was criminalized, dissent was violently punished, and Cuban citizens became property of their communist state. Fidel’s rule brought the world to its closest point of nuclear war during those fateful 13 days in 1962. He indoctrinated hate and pushed millions out of their country.

VR technology will help mums ‘bond’ with their unborn baby

The Christian Institute reports:

ultrasoundExpectant mothers may soon be able to view their unborn baby in virtual reality (VR), after the announcement of ground-breaking new scanning technology.

Scientists in Brazil have merged ultrasound images with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to build a 3D model of a baby in the womb, which can be brought to life by using a virtual reality headset.

Research has found that over half of “abortion-minded” women end up keeping their babies after seeing a scan.

What was God’s criterion for choosing the elect?

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6 (NASB)

A few years ago I listened to an attack on “Reformation Theology” in which the preacher based his entire case upon one single charge. He said that a Monergistic interpretation of the Bible is based upon a faulty presupposition. That presupposition is in two parts. The first part is that we say man is dead in trespasses and sins and incapable of obeying all commands to come to God in his own ability. The second part is that we say God takes the initiative and regenerates those whom he has elected before the foundation of the world enabling them to repent and believe and come to Christ and be justified by faith. This fellow totally ignored the fact that this theology is based upon God’s free choice before the foundation of the world and the redemptive work of Christ in the obedient life and keeping the Law and going to the cross to the become the propitiation for those elect. That’s right, he totally ignored what was actually accomplished at the cross. Instead, his interpretation of all those “difficult” passages like John 6:44 are best to be seen as God’s people being those who come to him in repentance and then he saves them. So, totally ignoring all these passages about election and imputation, he says salvation is a totally Synergistic system which man kick starts by coming to God in repentance first and then God takes over from there. He gave examples of genuine converts he had seen who came in brokenness and he could tell they were saved because they grasped the truth and walked in repentance, et cetera. He contrasted that with false converts who were simply religious who never walked in repentance. Right, could it be that he was confusing the order of things? Could it be that those he was seeing coming in repentance have been regenerated by God first and now are able to believe because they are the elect of God? View article →

Thankful for liberty

freedomFrom a sermon by Charles Haddon Spurgeon entitled “The Peace Of God,” delivered January 6, 1878.

How grateful we ought to be that we can meet together to worship God after that form which best satisfies our consciences without any fear of being hunted down by the authorities of the land…. We put none at the front door of our conventicle to watch lest the constable should come to take off worshipper and minister, that they may suffer imprisonment or fine. We worship God in unlimited liberty, and we ought to be exceedingly glad of the privilege, and infinitely more grateful for it than we are. Do we not sit every man under his own vine and fig tree, none making us afraid? Blessed is the land in which we dwell, and blessed are the days in which we live, when in all peace and quietness we worship God in public and sing his high praises as loudly as we please. Great God of peace, thou hast given us this peace, and in remembrance of our hunted forefathers we bless thee with our whole hearts!

Clinton Recount Plan Draws Sore Loser Jibe From Team Trump

According to Bloomberg:

Hillary ClintonHillary Clinton’s campaign will participate in vote recounts of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan if they take place, drawing a rebuke from Donald Trump’s team that the Democrat is being a “sore loser” and part of a “ridiculous” effort.

If Green Party candidate Jill Stein initiates recounts in those states as she intends, the Clinton campaign “will participate in order to ensure the process proceeds in a manner that is fair to all sides,” Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias said Saturday in a post on the blogging website Medium.com. He added that he doesn’t expect the action to overturn Trumps election.

Trump focused on Stein, not Clinton, in a response. “The people have spoken and the election is over, and as Hillary Clinton herself said on election night, in addition to her conceding by congratulating me, ‘We must accept this result and then look to the future,”’ he said in a statement.

Kellyanne Conway, who was Trump’s campaign manager and is now a senior adviser, was less conciliatory. “What a pack of sore losers,” she said in a statement. “After asking Mr. Trump and his team a million times on the trail, ‘Will HE accept the election results?’ it turns out Team Hillary and their new BFF Jill Stein can’t accept reality.”

Robot revolution: rise of ‘thinking’ machines could exacerbate inequality

The Guardian has the story:

robot-2A “robot revolution” will transform the global economy over the next 20 years, cutting the costs of doing business but exacerbating social inequality, as machines take over everything from caring for the elderly to flipping burgers, according to a new study.

As well as robots performing manual jobs, such as hoovering the living room or assembling machine parts, the development of artificial intelligence means computers are increasingly able to “think”, performing analytical tasks once seen as requiring human judgment.

In a 300-page report, revealed exclusively to the Guardian, analysts from investment bank Bank of America Merrill Lynch draw on the latest research to outline the impact of what they regard as a fourth industrial revolution, after steam, mass production and electronics.

“We are facing a paradigm shift which will change the way we live and work,” the authors say. “The pace of disruptive technological innovation has gone from linear to parabolic in recent years. Penetration of robots and artificial intelligence has hit every industry sector, and has become an integral part of our daily lives.”

What is ‘Bridal Mysticism’? And why is it so prevalent?

In this piece, Elizabeth Prata of The End Time answers these questions. Romantic eroticism is the term she uses to describe the way in which some professing Christian women describe an encounter they supposedly had with God.  Beth Moore claims she had an experience with God where she felt as if He was enfolding her; likewise, Sarah Young had a feeling of being enveloped by a warm mist and becoming aware of a lovely Presence.  In her writing, Ann Voskamp promotes pagan nature religion or mysticism. So it should come as no surprise that she expresses romantic feelings about Jesus and is looking for satisfaction.

Now listen as Elizabeth Prata sheds light on romantic eroticism:

brideIn 2005, Beth Moore was interviewed by Today’s Christian Woman magazine. They asked Moore:

Q. What led you to Jesus?

A. Beth Moore’s [2005] answer:

My Sunday-school teacher would hold up pictures of Jesus, and he looked so nice. I needed a hero, and Jesus seemed like one. I’d lie on the grass, stare up at the sky, and wonder what Jesus was like. Even as a child, I fell in love with him. After my freshman year in college, I was a camp counselor for sixth-grade girls. Early one morning, as the girls were sleeping, I sensed God’s presence enfold me. There were no audible words, no bright lights. But suddenly I knew, without a doubt, my future was entirely his. You are now mine, he told me. (source)

Christian leaders see influence growing under Trump

According to left-leaning Politico:

Donald Trump PrayerSocial conservatives got Donald Trump into the White House. Now, they expect him to deliver.

In conversations on Capitol Hill, donor meetings in Texas and behind closed doors at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, Virginia, socially conservative leaders are cheering Trump’s election and already moving to hold him accountable to the myriad campaign promises he made to Christian voters.

“Donald Trump is not the candidate pro-lifers would have chosen, and he understood that, and he did outreach,” said Tom McClusky, vice president of government affairs at the anti-abortion rights group March for Life. McClusky, who has been critical of Trump in the past, continued, “If he fulfills the promises he’s made, he could be the most pro-life president since Reagan.”

The Dr. Michael Brown Checklist of Manipulation

Steven Kozar of Messed Up Church has compiled a list of things that Dr. Michael Brown often says and does in order to elicit support from friends of his who are caught up in the New Apostolic Reformation cult:

Michael BrownDr. Michael Brown is an enigma.  Sometimes he says some really good things that all Bible-believing Christians can agree with (and we gladly recognize that), but other times he goes out on a limb in support of the most extreme New Apostolic Reformation teachers, pastors and leaders. For some reason, he has become a very convincing apologist and “front man” for obvious false teachers like Bill Johnson, Heidi Baker, Rick Joyner, Lance Wallnau and even Benny Hinn.

Hillsong & Beth Moore Unite: Using Weak Women To Capture Weak Women (and others)

Bud Ahlheim of Pulpit & Pen informs us that popular author, speaker and Bible teacher Beth Moore is scheduled to appear as a “Special Guest” at the Hillsong Conference 2017.  Moore and Hillsong’s Brian and Bobbie Houston are movers and shakers in the ravenous wolf camp, so discerning Christians will not be surprised by this; still, we need to be aware of what’s happening in the “Christian” community.  According to Ahlheim:

beth-moore-2-2When the imprisoned, soon-to-be-martyred Paul wrote his final letter to Timothy, effectively passing the mantle of ministry to his young protégé, he warned the young disciple about the imminent persecution that would come “in the last days.” The impetus for the coming “times of difficulty” was the increasing depravity of the pagan world.

At the end of the list (2 Timothy 3:2-5) of evidenced evil that Timothy ought to watch for, Paul included the following group in conclusion.

… those … having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith.”   2 Timothy 3:5-8

CDC Report Shows Abortion Rates Falling, But At Least 600,000 Babies Still Killed Each Year

Christian News Network reports:

pregnant-womanThe Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has released its annual “abortion surveillance” report, showing that abortion rates are falling and are at their lowest in decades, but with at least 600,000 babies still losing their lives each year.

“A total of 664,435 abortions were reported to CDC for 2013,” the organization wrote, outlining the latest year on record.

The figure equates to 200 abortions for every 1,000 live births, and is down five percent from 2012, when 699,202 abortions were reported. It is also half of the rate in 1980 and the lowest since 1971, prior to the passing of Roe v. Wade.

Mary at heart of next World Youth Day gathering

According to Catholic News Agency the veneration of Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus, continues to grow.  The apostate Roman Catholic Church teaches that Mary, who is in heaven, acts as a mediator for the Church. Scripture teaches otherwise. According to Hebrews 5:5, 6 the only One who acts as a mediator between man and God is Jesus Christ who alone is the high priest.  We learn in Hebrews 9:14-15, 10-14 that the blood of Jesus is the only acceptable sacrifice for the sins of mankind.  1 Timothy 2:5–6 confirms this: “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.”

truth-false-2On Tuesday the Vatican announced the themes for the next three World Youth Day encounters, which are focused on Mary and form the basis of a spiritual journey culminating in the next global encounter in Panama in 2019.

A Nov. 22 Vatican communique revealed that the themes for 2017 and 2018 diocesan-level events as well as the international gathering in 2019 will all be taken from Chapter 1 of the Gospel of Luke, centering on Mary in the scene of the Annunciation and her Magnificat, spoken after her cousin Elizabeth’s declaration that “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”

Thanksgiving Through the Years

thanksgiving-dinnerLee Edwards, distinguished fellow at The Heritage Foundation, reminds us that as the name implies, Thanksgiving Day is about giving thanks to Almighty God for all the blessings we enjoy. Edwards writes:

George Washington was first in war, first in peace, and in November 1789 the first president to proclaim a national day of Thanksgiving, openly acknowledging God as the source of all “the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.”

Among the “favors” were a Declaration of Independence that inspires us to the present day, a remarkable military victory over the most powerful nation in the world, and an ingenious Constitution of checks and balances that places “we the people” at the center of our government.

For the next fourscore and seven years, most states honored a November date as a day of prayer and fasting, but there was no national celebration. Of the early presidents, only James Madison, in 1814 and 1815, issued proclamations.

Then in November 1863, with the Civil War still raging, President Abraham Lincoln officially declared the last Thursday of November to be Thanksgiving. Echoing Washington, President Lincoln asked Americans to “implore the interposition of the Almighty hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the divine purposes, to the full employment of peace, harmony, tranquillity, and union.”

Here Comes (U.S.) Thanksgiving: The Unbreakable Link Between Gratitude and Joy

Blogger, author and book reviewer Tim Challies shares some thoughts on one of the first three fruits of the spirit listed in Galatians 5: Joy.  He writes:

joyWhat are people willing to give for joy? What price are they willing to pay? Consider what people spend on vacations, luxury goods, entertainment, and stimulants and it’s clear the cost is sky-high. And yet all that time, money, and effort never seems to be enough. For so many people, joy remains elusive. And if they do find it, it is fleeting and unsatisfying.

It’s ironic that during the holiday season—when we talk about joy the most—it seems to be the hardest to find. The holidays are stressful. We have a lot to do. We are pressed for time and money. Family conflicts tend to rise to the surface. But even in the midst of these things we can remain genuinely joyful. This sounds paradoxical, but as Bill Farley discusses in his recent book, The Secret of Spiritual Joy (to which this article is indebted), it is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit.

Tullian Tchividjian Emerges From Scandal With New Wife, Preaches Sermon on God’s Redemption

Christian Post, a site we do not recommend, has the latest on disgraced pastor Tullian Tchividjian. Last year we reported that after admitting to an adulterous relationship he was asked to resign from his pulpit at Coral Ridge Presbyterian in South Florida. Shortly thereafter, Tchividjian was hired by Willow Creek Presbyterian as Director of Ministry Development.  We then reported that he was immediately fired from that job when affair #2 came to light six months later.  We also let our readers know that in August of this year Tchividjian remarried.  CP has provided photos of the couple’s wedding celebration along with an excerpt from the sermon he gave.

Following are biblical qualifications for a pastor:

For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. – Titus 1:7-8

tullian-tchividjian-3Tullian Tchividjian, the Rev. Billy Graham’s grandson who lost his church and wife last summer to an adultery scandal, has re-emerged with a new wife and a redeeming message about God’s “magnificent intervention.”

In the sermon that also appeared to quietly address his last misstep, Tchividjian recalled a time when he got caught cutting school by his psychologist father as a teenager.

Tchividjian’s remarriage was first confirmed in a Facebook post on Saturday by his new wife, Stacie, as she highlighted a sermon he delivered at the non-denominational Spring Hills Community Church in Santa Rosa, California.”What an honor it was to be invited to Spring Hills Community Church and sincerely welcomed by such a loving staff and congregation! Our time in Santa Rosa was too short, but SO wonderful … Tullian Tchividjian (my amazing Hubby!) delivered an authentic, powerful message,” she wrote in part. While he did not comment on his remarriage, Tchividjian highlighted the same sermon on his Facebook page on Saturday about an hour after his new wife posted it.”Very grateful to our friends at Spring Hills Community Church for the invitation to come and speak a few weeks ago,” Tchividjian wrote of the Oct. 31, sermon.

Satan’s Civil Rights

Dr. Peter Jones of truthXchange warns that, “Satanists claim their civil right to express demonic notions to children, and we cannot lawfully stop them.” Moreover, “having acquired social recognition, the forces of paganism are ever ready to silence ‘the good.’ Where evil is concerned, there is no fair play.” Because Satanism is on the rise in America, Dr. Jones reveals what will occur in our nation:

satanic-templeFor the first time, a Satanist group has official permission to meet in a public school at the end of the school day. An After School Satan Club (ASSC) meeting was held at Sacramento Elementary School in Portland, Oregon on November 16th, 2016. The previous day, at Parkrose Middle School (also in Portland), the Satanic Temple made a presentation that was supposed to be open to the community and press but was not. The second ASSC is set to meet at Point Defiance Elementary School in Tacoma on Wednesday, December 14th. Approved in September, the ASSC, seeks to provide an alternative to other after-school religious groups. ASSC chapters are meeting in Atlanta and Tucson, and the movement may gain momentum. At one level, this seems like cultural fair play, but at another level, it shows how dramatically Western culture has changed. After centuries of underground existence, Satanic teaching is now so self-confident of its acceptance that it openly demands —and gets—a public voice. The Pew Research Center showed that out of about 245 million US adults in 2014, 173 million were Christians. However, many of these now adopt a Hindu slant on life.

Top Vatican Cardinal: Not Even A Pope Can Change Divine Law on Communion

CNSNews reports:

Pope FrancisAs Catholic Church leaders, including Pope Francis, battle over whether divorced and remarried couples may receive Communion — although the couples are objectively in a state of serious sin, i.e., adultery — Cardinal Robert Sarah, head of the Vatican office dealing with Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, said the Church’s teaching on mortal sin and Communion cannot change and that even a Pope cannot seek to circumvent or alter this divine law.

The dispute over Communion for divorced and remarried Catholic couples stems from Pope Francis’s letter Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love), which grew out of the meeting of bishops (synod) in 2014 and 2015, and was released as a document by the Pope in March 2016.

Saving faith does not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God

1 And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, 4 and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (NASB)

Martin Luther is considered the “Lighting rod of the Protestant Reformation.” It was through his battle with the Roman Catholic Church that the doctrine of salvation through Justification by Grace through Faith alone was recovered and from that, many Christian martyrs went to their deaths refusing to compromise their faith by denying the truth of knowing Jesus Christ and Him crucified based not upon the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. So much of the pressure being brought to bear upon Christians in our time is to not be so precise in our theology, but be more willing to “compromise” along doctrinal grounds for the sake of “unity.” The “mega-church” model is based precisely upon never offending anyone, but being non-threatening and willing to be all things to all people in order to attract everyone, but to what? Remembering the enticing appeal of Richard Foster and Beth Moore’s Be Still film

Lighthouse Trails does not want us to forget how certain esteemed Christian leaders introduced the evangelical community to contemplative prayer (CP), also referred to as centering prayer, breath prayer, meditation and listening prayer.  Why is this important to remember?  For the reason that CP is steeped in Roman Catholic mysticism and is highly unbiblical. Yet Christian celebs such as Richard Foster and Beth Moore urge their followers to adopt a dangerous practice that takes the practitioner into an altered state of consciousness. In this piece, Lighthouse Trails reveals the names of several other wolves in sheep’s clothing and provides reasons we must flee from these people:

be-still-dvdIn 2006, a DVD film was released by Fox Entertainment called Be Still. Lighthouse Trails wrote extensively about it at the time, warning our readers that the DVD was an infomercial for contemplative prayer. Recently, a caller who very much understood the deceptive dynamics of the contemplative prayer (i.e., Spiritual Formation) movement, reminded us about the film, and we e-mailed her a copy of all the transcripts (we had transcribed the entire film in 2006). The film includes Richard Foster, Buddhist-sympathizer Catholic convert Peter Kreeft, Dallas Willard, Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, Michelle McKinney Hammon, Max Lucado, and Calvin Miller. Obama Admin Fines Police Department for Not Hiring Non-Citizens

According to The Daily Signal:

law-enforcement-3Denver County’s sheriff office has been slapped with a fine by the Department of Justice (DOJ) because it refused to hire non-citizens as deputies.

From the beginning of 2015 through last March, the Denver Sheriff Department went on a major hiring binge, adding more than 200 new deputies. But those jobs ended up only going to citizens, because the department made citizenship a stated requirement on the job application. The department admitted as much in a new settlement with the U.S. government, which requires it to pay a $10,000 fine.

The department will also have to comb through all of its job applications from the past two years, identifying immigrants who were excluded from the hiring process and giving them due consideration.

Good works and works righteousness

36 And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers. 38 At that very moment she came up and began giving thanks to God, and continued to speak of Him to all those who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem. Luke 2:36-38 (NASB)
When I was a young man and even prior to that when I was a teenager before God had mercy on me, I was quite religious. I went to church with my family and tried to emulate what I saw my parents do in their devotion. I tried to reach a point in my own devotion where I could be fulfilled, wanting to serve God with the joy and fervor I saw in other believers. However, I just could not do it. I found myself bored in church. I found no inner drive to read my Bible. I had no desire to have a consistent devotion to God because there were so many other things in my life that were more important to me than that. I was tormented by the fact that I could not behave consistently “Christian.” I had no self-control in certain situations. Then I would visit my family and attend church with them on Sunday full of remorse and guilt. I would exit the service determined to do good works and not sin anymore. I look back on that time now and almost laugh except it was a horrible conflict in my life at that time. I was convinced that being a Christian consisted of doing Christian things. In that unregenerate mind, a Christian was a Christian because they did those things. That, of course, is what works righteousness is.  View article →

Surge of Immigration from Nations with Anti-Western Values

According to PoliZette, an “escalating number of migrants come from countries with illiberal outlooks.” For example, “In India, 73 percent believes it is sometimes acceptable to beat one’s wife, an opinion they apparently share with 65 percent of Iraqis, 61 percent of Egyptians, and 53 percent of Nigerians, according to the survey.” Edmund Kozak warns that,

burkaImmigration to United States from countries with values antithetical to those of the West is surging at an alarming rate, new analysis from the Center for Immigration Studies shows.

A comparison of the immigrant population in the U.S. that exploded between 2010 and 2015, and the cultural values of their home countries as indicated by the World Values Survey, paints a worrying picture of the future of American cultural and social cohesion.

Justin Peters & Jim Osman on Spiritual Warfare: Binding Satan

In this piece, Bud Ahlheim of Pulpit & Pen tackles the propensity some Christians have to “bind Satan.”  As if that’s even possible. Ahlheim reminds us that “a simple reading of Scripture and the application of just a bit of common sense would do much to aid believers in avoiding the pitfalls of spiritually toxic teachings, particularly those within the realm of spiritual warfare.”  He includes Justin Peters’ and Jim Osman’s teaching on Spiritual Warfare. Here’s our Research Paper on this controversial topic. Now listen to what Bud has to say:

spiritual-warfare-1The most widely known – and the most widely misunderstood – concept of spiritual warfare.”  Justin Peters

“It sounds like hocus-pocus because it is hocus-pocus.”  Jim Osman

The modern church’s belief about what constitutes spiritual warfare is, as Justin Peters remarked, perhaps no better exemplified than by the almost universal, though Scripturally absent, practice of believers “binding Satan” or “binding demons.”   A Google inquiry for the phrase “binding Satan” returns over 564,000 hits.  A search with the prefatory “how to,” as in “how to bind Satan,” results in over 501,000 digital links.  Since the implementation of this maneuver requires prayer, searches for “binding Satan prayers” or “binding demons prayers” yields 420,000 hits for the former and 346,000 for the latter.

Popular interest in this maneuver is clearly impressive and, sadly, it reflects the biblical ignorance that itself is the modern church’s most pervasive malady. The notion of binding Satan exudes a pernicious presumption of the Devil’s ubiquity, attributing to him an omnipresent characteristic exclusive to

God. The perception is given that his powers, particularly over the blood-bought chosen and redeemed of Christ, are nearly insurmountable, save for the mystical incantations and presumed authority of believers this false form of spiritual warfare teaches.

While it helps fill pews, sell books, and provides an appealing mystique of spiritual and mystical melodrama, this false teaching of spiritual warfare is something few believers seem to recognize as erroneous.  Apparently few pastors, churches, and denominations bother to teach the actual Biblical responsibilities and engagement believers are to use in authentic spiritual warfare. It’s just much simpler to let fallacies persist than to do the hard job of rightly handling the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15) and obediently feeding Christ’s sheep. (John 21:17)screen-shot-2016-11-19-at-3-06-01-pm

Yet a simple reading of Scripture and the application of just a bit of common sense would do much to aid believers in avoiding the pitfalls of spiritually toxic teachings, particularly those within the realm of spiritual warfare.

“Common sense goes a long way in dispelling a lot of these myths, aside from the theology.” Justin Peters  View article →
