There is a certain hysteria currently amongst many of our 21st Century Puritans. While I gladly count myself as a Puritan, I also know that our enemy desires to shackle and nullify our witness and divert our focus, by feeding our heightened perceptions as to what is godly and what is false with misleading and derogatory information that cause us to turn on one another. Gov Gavin Newsom’s “gross mismanagement of the nation’s most-populated state is the stuff of legend, but he never misses an opportunity to blame Republicans who have no say in his one-party state. This time, it was to hammer Donald Trump, who Newsom said chose “to politicize it” (by saying true things about Newsom’s governance). Unfortunately for Newsom, he “did the meme.” He grumbled about Trump while standing with the fire behind him on CNN — just like that infamous CNN reporter who explained that the George Floyd riots in Minneapolis were “fiery by mostly peaceful.”

Over the past several days I have been under a great deal of time pressure in the morning so that my usual time I spend with the Lord in my daily devotions has been very hurried sometimes, while at others I have been so rushed I have had to neglect it altogether. Once considered to be a premier Protestant apologist with a focus on countering Roman Catholic claims, Ortlund has lately descended into theological liberalism and far left political views. Now, he is completely undermining his entire apologetic ministry with a video he published called, “Are Catholics Christians? Why Protestants Can Say YES.” Gavin does so by making a three-part argument.

(Mary Dowling) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has officially announced his resignation, and we hope Canadians can get some of their lost freedoms back with a new leader. He will step down as soon as a new leader is chosen. As he approached the lectern, his prepared speech blew away. He then quipped, “I’ll wing it.”
He’s not really leaving exactly. Trudeau resigned from the liberal party and intends to stay on as PM until the election. He asked for a prorogation of Parliament until March 24th, so no one can bother him. He doesn’t have to face their Parliament or the people. Continue reading
