CrossFit Fires a Christian After Gay Rights Activists Demand It

The employee, on his personal social media feed, defended a CrossFit Box under fire for not having a gay pride event.

(Erick Erickson – The Maven)  I do not know Russell Berger well, though we attended Reformed Theological Seminary together. He was chief marketing officer for CrossFit until yesterday afternoon. That’s when the gay mob came for Russell. He had the audacity to, on his personal Twitter feed, accurately declare celebrating gay pride a sin.  View article →

UMC Minnesota Conference Removes ‘Father’ From Apostles’ Creed for Worship Service

“No United Methodist individual or body has the authority to edit those creeds which were formulated by the early Church and have helped define orthodox Christianity for the better part of 2000 years,”

(Michael Gryboski – Christian Post) The Minnesota Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church edited the historic Apostles’ Creed so that it removed references to God as “Father” for a worship service.

The Apostles’ Creed is an affirmation of Christian faith that goes back to the early Church and is still common in many churches that include liturgy as part of worship. Continue reading

‘Are You Gay Allies?’: Creepy Government Video Indoctrinates Children for Pride Month

(Dan Andros – Faithwire)  A video produced by CBC Life, a vertical on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s website, has caused controversy after using children to promote gay pride month.

“Happy pride everybody!” Canadian television host Jessi Cruickshank begins, while being met by a throng of cheers from the impressionable young children who took part in the video celebrating gay pride month.

After asking the kids if they know what gay pride means, she says “that’s absolutely right, it’s a celebration of sexual diversity,” before explaining that she is a “I’m not gay, but I’m a gay ally.” Cruickshank then puts the children on the spot and asks them if they, too, are gay allies. SBC Leaders Float Idea of Beth Moore As Next Denomination President

(Pulpit & Pen)  Beth Moore, who is best known as Lifeway’s Cash Cow of Bashan, the extremely popular women’s teacher whose increasingly wild-eyed prophetic visions have gained prominence in a wide berth of evangelicalism well outside the SBC (especially in charismatic circles, as she coalesces with other egalitarian prophetesses like Anne Voskamp, Joyce Meyer, and Christine Caine), may very well be promoted as the next president of the SBC after the upcoming term of JD Greear.

Greear, who is seen as the favorite for the 2018 SBC election, holds to a modified Complementarian position that is, for all intents and purposes, Egalitarian. Also a Continuationist and a #woke Social Justice Warrior, the megachurch satellite campus pastor is well departed from Southern Baptist historic orthodoxy on a number of points. … Continue reading

Supreme Court sides with Colorado baker who refused to make wedding cake for same-sex couple

(Fox News)  The Supreme Court ruled Monday in favor of a Colorado baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple, in one of the most closely watched cases of the term.

In a 7-2 decision, the justices set aside a Colorado court ruling against the baker — while stopping short of deciding the broader issue of whether a business can refuse to serve gay and lesbian people

The narrow ruling focused on what the court described as anti-religious bias on the Colorado Civil Rights Commission when it ruled against baker Jack Phillips.. Continue reading

Google is labeling a Trump-supporting Republican state senator a ‘BIGOT’

(Alex Thompson – Vice News)  Trudy Wade is a Republican state senator from North Carolina and an enthusiastic supporter of President Trump.

But if you search “Trudy Wade” on Google, the search giant displays an old photo in the “knowledge panel” of its search results with “BIGOT” superimposed in big red letters.

It’s just the latest example of Google not vetting the information that gets pulled into its “knowledge panels,” which are meant to give users quick information without them having to click through search results (often on other, non-Google websites). Continue reading

This is a predatory industry at war with America’s general welfare.

(J.J. McCullough – National Review)  Big marijuana news was made last week when the firm Aurora Cannabis merged with rival MedReleaf in a $3.2 billion deal — the largest in the history of the industry. The merger will help consolidate Auroa’s status as “the biggest pure play cannabis company in the world,” the CBC reported, noting the company’s “supply and licensing agreements in countries as far afield as Germany, Italy, Brazil and Australia.” … Continue reading

(Kate Shellnutt – Christianity Today) A week after trustees voted to immediately shift Paige Patterson to “president emeritus” at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS), the board’s executive committee has stripped the Southern Baptist stalwart of all “benefits, rights and privileges.” Continue reading

Yes, Alexa Is Spying On You, Even If Unintentionally

“First of all, let’s be clear about one thing. Alexa, Siri and Cortana are always listening. If they weren’t, how would they know when you said their name to wake them up?”

(Jazz Shaw – Hot Air)  Continuing with our ongoing investigation into What The Heck Are These Newfangled Machines Up To, an interesting story popped up last week involving the Amazon digital assistant known as Alexa. One family in Oregon ran into an unexpected and potentially embarrassing situation after discovering that Alexa was far more interested in what they were talking about than they’d originally imagined. Even more alarming was the fact that she was pretty proactive about it too. … Continue reading

Willow Creek Hires Independent Firm to Help Reconcile With Bill Hybels’ Accusers; Women Say They Want Truth First

(Leonardo Blair – Christian Post)  Two weeks after Willow Creek Community Church’s elder board apologized for initially brushing off several women’s sexual misconduct accusations against founder Bill Hybels as lies, some of the pastor’s most vocal accusers have rejected an independent conciliation effort offered by the megachurch as an olive branch.

“The elders have said publicly that they are trying to reach out and ‘care for the women’ involved. But what would true caring look like? In my view, this is not the time to enter into any kind of reconciliation process. That is grossly premature. As I have said in prior statements, truth finding must precede reconciliation,” Nancy Beach, Willow Creek Community Church’s first female teaching pastor, wrote in part in a blog post on Friday. ‘Your Prayers Don’t Work’; Hollywood Uses Shooting to Push Gun Control

(Corinne Weaver – NewsBusters) Sympathy and charity are the natural reactions to a tragedy. Using the deaths of innocent people as an immediate platform for political gain is inhuman.

So, naturally, that’s the route Hollywood elitists chose to take just hours after the school shooting in Santa Fe that left 10 dead and several injured. Actors and actresses attacked everything they could get their hands on with blind, misdirected rage and virtuous grandstanding. It was like a wake of ghoulish vultures, screeching “YOUR PRAYERS DON’T WORK.” Continue reading

23 Major League Baseball Teams to Promote Homosexuality at ‘LGBT Pride’ Nights

(Michael W. Chapman – CNSNews) Sadly, 23 of the 30 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams are promoting homosexuality through “LGBT Pride” nights this year, reported Outsports.com. In addition, only two MLB teams — New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels — have never held such “pride” nights.

Outsports.com co-founder Jim Buzinski wrote that the teams were continuing “to court their LGBT fan base” and that the “pride nights will be a big draw in Major League Baseball this season.”

MLB Vice President Billy Bean, an openly homosexual former player, said of the “pride nights” in 2017, “I couldn’t be prouder of baseball — we’re really leading the way,” reported LifeSiteNews.comView article →
