Mayor and Councilman lied to public about Drag Queen background checks

“Parents are irate because…two Drag Queens in Texas had been convicted of child molestation, and another one was a convicted prostitute. Moreover, the Drag Queens invariably have a history of activities steeped in lurid homosexual and transgender perversion – as their own social media posts often advertise.”

(MassResistance)   A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by MassResistance has revealed that the Mayor and a City Councilman in Chula Vista, CA, blatantly lied to the public about criminal background checks being done on the “Drag Queens” reading to children in the city’s public library. Understanding Why Religious Conservatives Would Vote for Trump

Some religious conservatives may see the world in moral terms — right and wrong; black and white. But there’s a long moral tradition, as far back as Augustine, that sees our world in shades of gray. The City of God lives as earthly inhabitants of the City of Man; thus, our world is imperfect. We are to be “in the world, but not of it.” History does not progress only toward human perfection. In this calculus, religious conservatives might see moral contrasts in black and white, but see voting for a morally compromised figure whose administration pushes back against progressivism as an uncomfortable shade of gray.

(Andrew T. Walker – National Review)  In January 2021, someone will take the presidential oath of office, and religious conservatives will undoubtedly play a crucial role in whom it will be…. Continue reading

The Letter of Paul to the Philippians Chapter 3

7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, 9 and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11 in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:7-11 (NASB)

From where does the righteousness of the Christian come? If you think that is an unimportant question or one that we do not need to spend much time on, then you could quite possibly be one who is either the next victim of a deceiver or have already been deceived…. Continue reading

Should I Use My Trans Neighbor’s Preferred Pronoun?

In some regions of society, parents are being urged to stay away from the titles of “mother” and “father.” They insist we use, instead, “parent A” and “parent B.” (This is particularly big in my wife’s field: doula services. Every vestige of “mother” in the literature is being scrubbed and replaced with “pregnant person.”) I would venture to guess that most conservative Christians who are fine with adopting alternative gender pronouns for the sake of being “hospitable” will say, “Ok, that’s crazy. I’d never shy away from addressing fathers and mothers as such. We draw the line here.”

(Sam Parkison – For The Church)  The apostle Paul was a divider. This is not to say he was against unity per se. In fact, in a very real way, you could say that the unity of the Church was one of Paul’s hallmarks (Eph 4:1-7)…. Continue reading

A Former Beth Moore Follower Explains Why She Dumped Her After Learning the Truth

“Her teachings are emotional and easy on the soul, but if a non-believer were to study them all, would they know, in the end, what is required to have a saving faith in Christ? Are her followers being drawn into a superficial knowledge of Jesus rather than a saving knowledge of Him? That is my question and my fear, and that is why I feel compelled to speak about a ministry I so dearly loved at one time.”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  Beth Moore is the Southern Baptist Convention’s most popular female preacher and has captivated many with her seeker-sensitive theological perspective and Bible studies published and sold through the denomination’s publishing branch, LifeWay…. Our Most Important Question: What to Do with our Kids?

[T]his week Sheffield University announced a scheme in which students will be paid £9.34 an hour to challenge other students who commit so-called ‘micro-aggressions’. Under this insidious doctrine, the most innocuous comment can be considered offensive: examples drawn up by Sheffield include asking someone why they are frying a banana (not realizing it is a plantain). This is evidence of a deeply rooted institutional intolerance.

(Peter Jones – truthxchange)  For many, “getting into college” was the great personal achievement that marked the beginning of a successful adult life. I remember the pride of being the “first of my family” to achieve this honor, and I studied like I had never studied before—to avoid the real possibility of being thrown out for insufficient grades…. Boy Scouts of America files for bankruptcy amid hundreds of sex-abuse lawsuits, declining membership

“Since 2017, BSA has paid more than $150 million in settlements and legal fees defending and resolving sex-abuse claims. There are still roughly 275 pending lawsuits.”

(Adam Ford – Disrn) The Boy Scouts of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection early Tuesday in an attempt to keep operating amid a wave of child sex-abuse lawsuits and declining membership. Continue reading

The Letter of Paul to the Philippians Chapter 2

1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. 3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; Philippians 2:1-3 (NASB)

There is much controversy within the Reformed Theology ranks at this time. I have written about this some and referred to it quite a bit…. Continue reading

Top Mueller prosecutor: DOJ starting new investigation into James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Peter Strzok

(Daniel Chaitin – Washington Examiner)  One of Robert Mueller’s former top prosecutors said the outside prosecutor picked to review the case against retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn is a ruse to investigate President Trump’s perceived enemies.

Andrew Weissmann, a former Justice Department official who was known as Mueller’s “pit bull” during the Russia investigation, said the Justice Department swapped out the “loser case” of Andrew McCabe, who escaped criminal charges on Friday for allegedly lying to investigators about authorizing media disclosures, for a fresh one targeting top former FBI officials, including McCabe, led by Jeffrey Jensen, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri. The Letter of Paul to the Philippians Chapter 1

1 Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus in Philippi with the overseers and deacons: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:1-2 (translated from the NA28 Greek text)

In vv1-2 Paul and Timothy gives the standard Christian greeting that was very common in the early Church. Notice that it is from both Paul and Timothy, who identify themselves as δοῦλοι Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ (slaves of Christ Jesus), but it addressed to all the ἁγίοις ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ (saints in Christ Jesus) at Philippi….

The Letter of Paul to the Philippians Chapter 4

12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:12-13 (NASB)

The enemy of our souls, Satan, does not attack believers in such a way that we should recognize him as being who he is. Instead, he comes disguised as the voice behind the theologian from the best seminary who may be the leader with a huge church empire and also be the author of many best-selling books. How does he attack what we call the Orthodox Christian faith?… Continue reading

3 Good Things to Remember When People Let You Down

Perhaps you expected something from a certain person that he or she didn’t give you. This does not necessarily mean the person has sinned against you. We all have expectations of the people in our lives, and this goes both ways. Maybe people close to you—your spouse, children, parents, friends—hoped you would treat them in a certain way, but you failed to do it.

(Lee Ann Trees – Beautiful Christian)  Did your friends just ditch you when you needed them the most? Find out someone else got that job promotion you were hoping for? Did you want to help win the big game, but your coach left you sitting on the bench?… Continue reading

Biologists: Only Two Sexes, Male and Female, There is No Sex ‘Spectrum’

Those “most vulnerable to sex denialism are children” because “gender identity” instead of biological sex can cause confusion. Puberty-blocking drugs and “affirmation therapies” that reinforce this confusion may contribute to gender dysphoria.”

(Michael W. Chapman – CNSNews) In a powerful commentary in the Feb. 3 edition of The Wall Street Journal, biologists Colin Wright and Emma Hilton explain that, scientifically, there are only two sexes, male and female, and there is no sex “spectrum.” They also stress that “biologists and medical professionals” must stop being politically correct and “stand up for the empirical reality of biological sex.” Continue reading

Holy Scripture and the Holy Spirit

“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” Jesus to His Disciple/Apostles, John 16:12-13, KJV, Emphasis added.

The New Apostolic Reformation (i.e., NAR), a charismatic movement within evangelicalism’s “big tent,” believes that just as the Holy Spirit guides Christians into “all truth,” He also reveals new truths—i.e., “things to come.”…. Continue reading

What In The Wide World Is Going On With The Southern Baptist Convention? (Republishing with the link)

“Why was David Hughes invited to speak to the Pastors Conference? Because a lot of the pastors attending want to be just like David Hughes. Or Steven Furtick. Or Andy Stanley. Or Ed Young Jr. Or Beth Moore. Or Bethel Church. They’re pragmatists.”

(Gabrial Hughes – The Midwestern Baptist) Perhaps you heard the sound of a massive creaking ship rocking the online community, and you turned in your boat to see a commotion aboard the U.S.S. Southern Baptist Convention. That’s because on Monday, the Pastors Conference, which precedes the annual convention held in June, announced the line-up of speakers who would be addressing the ministers attending this year’s event in Orlando. And that line-up is a mess, to say the least. Continue reading

Rush Limbaugh, my loving brother and ‘a friend to countless Americans’

When I read or hear the haters talking about Rush, his show, his message, his soul, I realize I inhabit a different universe than them. They distort who he is, what he says, what he stands for, the kind of person he is. … Their antipathy is disturbing. They actually wish him physical, emotional and spiritual harm. “I’m rooting for the cancer.” “I won’t be happy until he’s until he’s screaming in agony 24/7.” Lovely. … As passionate as I am about my own political beliefs, I never wish harm on those who disagree. If anyone needs prayers, it is them — and I mean that sincerely.

(David Limbaugh)  I am uniquely blessed to be Rush Limbaugh’s brother in ways too numerous to count, and I am blessed to be in the special position of witnessing firsthand the outpouring of love and prayers from his family, friends and fans. His wife, Kathryn, has been amazing and a rock throughout. Continue reading

Sweden: Gender Dysphoria in Teen Girls Cases up 1,500 Per Cent Since 2008

“Statistics show that those diagnosed with gender dysphoria are at much larger risk of suicide than the general Swedish population. Of the 6,334 people diagnosed with gender dysphoria since 1998, 21 men and 18 women have committed suicide.”

(Chris Tomlinson)  Breitbart)  The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare has claimed that the country has seen an enormous surge of gender dysphoria cases in girls aged 13 to 17 since 2008.

Newly diagnosed cases in the 13 to 17 age bracket have gone up 1,500 per cent, while the number of cases for other age groups has also seen a significant rise as well, with experts not knowing the root cause for the increase in overall numbers. Continue reading

A Letter to the Church in Philadelphia

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: Revelation 3:7 (NKJV)

One of the big errors of our time in the visible Church of the 21st Century is the misguided concept that truth is subjective. In other words, truth is what you want it be. This concept is, of course, simply borrowed from the world, which loves it. While I do not contend that I know when our Lord will return, I do know that it will be at the end of this age prior to the age to come…. Continue reading

Boys Competing With Girls Won Track Meets. The Girls Just Filed A Lawsuit In Federal Court

I knew that I was the fastest girl here, one of the fastest in the state. I remembered all my training and everything I had been taught on how to maximize my performance … I thought of all the times that other girls have lost. I could feel the adrenaline in my blood and hope that wafted from me. That just possibly, I could win this. Then, the gun went off. And I lost.”

(Hank Berrien – Daily Wire) On Wednesday, a lawsuit was filed in federal court by three high school girls and their mothers against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC), which has permitted boys to compete in events and win awards that would otherwise have gone to girls. Baptist University Invites Native American Mystic to Preach, Opens and Closes With Prayer to ‘Mother Mystery’

“Nowhere in any of Curtice’s works or writings does she show one iota of understanding of the biblical gospel. Of course, we should not expect a Catholic to understand the gospel as the Catholic Church’s gospel is false. Yet, even in the spiritual blindness of the Roman Catholic Church, many Catholics still have a good grasp on general revelation, morality, and general common sense.”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  Baylor, a private Christian university located in Waco, Texas, is known as the largest Baptist university in the world with approximately 17,200 students on its 1,000-acre campus and is affiliated with the Texas Baptist Convention, which is subsequently connected to the Southern Baptist Convention.
