Psalm 50: 21-22: Holy God to the depraved: NOW do you see the stupidity, depravity, and evil in your hearts?

Now, as our land breaks apart and cities burn in furnaces of unfettered sin and violence the Lord our God speaks to the unrighteous in a dreadful, wrath-filled voice saying, “Do you finally see your sinfulness—the stupidity, depravity, and evil—in your hearts?!”

(Linda Kimball – RenewAmerica) A black wing overshadows our land. In its darkness we see able-bodied people with no work ethic electing to sit at home and live off the productive, while in the latest round of closings due to lawlessness, crime, and violence, Target “…plans to close (and) will shut their doors on October 21…. Dark Times for the Roman Catholic Church?

“Pope Francis is taking a major step this week in pushing arguably the most progressive legacy of any Pope as members of a major church Synod and the Pope are called together in Vatican City to debate new changes that could rock the ancient faith.”

(Mary Dowling) Pope Francis opened the door Monday for some Catholic priests to bless same-sex unions, hinting at a reversal of the official Vatican position that has put it at odds with many of its own progressive followers,” reports NBC News.

There were caveats, including they should not be seen as equivalent to heterosexual wedding ceremonies. Continue reading

If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, having been kept in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-9 (LSB) Read verses 6-9 on the site.

I doubt that I am unique in my dread of fiery trials. I have been a Christian long enough to know, however, that despite what men such as Joel Osteen preach and teach, testing by fire is the way God perfects our faith unto completion to prepare us to be before Him in glory. I suggest all reading this post also read Grace Abounding To the Chief of Sinners by John Bunyan. He was a mighty warrior of the Christian faith, but he was made so by the great craftsman of our faith, our Lord, through the fires of temptation and tests that left a legacy of Biblical Truth for the body of Christ that is timeless…. Home wreckers? All the appliances the Biden administration plans to regulate more aggressively

“Here is a partial list of both recent and soon to be regulated appliances…”

(Just the News) The Joe Biden administration continues to use executive authority to regulate popular household appliances at an unprecedented level, with claims that their changes will save consumers money and help slow climate change and its alleged effects on the environment.

Though the latest set of restrictions the administration is mandating is for gas powered furnaces, that is only the latest and far from the last. Continue reading

Newsom Picks a Gay, Black Maryland Gal to Represent California

(Mary Dowling) Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed California Senator Dianne Feinstein’s replacement to fill out the 13 months left on Mrs. Feinstein’s term.

Laphonza Butler is the choice, and she is perfect. She’s a gay black woman who lives in Maryland and will represent Californians with a Maryland state of mind. And she’s a successful fundraiser.

What difference at this point does it make? Look who represents Democrats in the White House. Continue reading

Andy Stanley Isn’t the Problem, He’s Only a Massive Symptom

“From Bill Hybels to Steven Furtick to Craig Groeschel, the list goes on of celebrity pastors who have pursued growth and popularity over truth. They have given in to the zeitgeist, promoting homosexuality, gender confusion, Critical Race Theory, and other ideologies utterly incompatible with God’s Word.”

(The Dissenter) The recent revelations about Andy Stanley’s gay-affirming theology come as no surprise to those who have watched the North Point pastor’s descent into heresy over the past decade. While not surprising, they do confirm unequivocally Stanley’s position and intent to affirm homosexuality in the Church…. Continue reading

Yes, The Biden Impeachment Hearing Presented Evidence Of Corruption — Lots Of It

“This is just a sample, but you get the idea. Hunter was engaged in a patently corrupt scheme that involved selling access to his father, one of the most powerful politicians on the planet.”

(John Daniel Davidson – The Federalist) The corporate news media all but refused to cover the opening hearing of the House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden on Thursday, and to the extent they did, it was only to repeat, at the behest of the White House, the exhausted mantra that there’s “no evidence” connecting Biden to his son Hunter’s international bribery scheme. Christians and Apostates

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:8-12 (NKJV)

This era of the Church is one of extreme deception due to compromise with the standards and focus of the world. Separation between the Church and the world is not being kept. Instead, the holy barrier between the two has been breached as false prophets have welcomed in not only the world and its ways into their churches. Not only that, but they have also embraced the mysticism of the Eastern religions…. Continue reading

The Battle For the Body

“This war against the body lies at the heart of so much of our modern politics. It connects to the sexual politics that deny that human genitals are to be used in some ways and not in others. It connects to gender politics that see the significance traditionally ascribed to sexed bodies as an oppressive social construct….”

(Carl R. Trueman – First Things) Given the chaotic and volatile nature of our culture, what should the church focus on in her teaching? This is one of the pressing questions of our day. The answer, of course, is “the whole counsel of God.” That is true but also somewhat glib. Do peculiar times not call for specific emphases in our teaching?… Continue reading

Leave it to Kamala

“If the Biden administration really cared about “gun violence,” it would propose harsh mandatory prison sentences for anyone who possesses a firearm in the commission of a crime. Five years first offense, ten years second. That’s in addition to punishment for the criminal act being committed by the gun-wielder.”

(Bill O’Reilly) Fresh off her tremendous success discovering the “root causes” and solutions to the border crisis, President Biden has appointed Vice President Kamala Harris to run the new White House office on gun violence prevention—another splendid decision by Joe. Continue reading

Musk Can’t Take It Anymore, Declares He’s Going to the Border: We ‘Need a Wall’

“Musk did not say exactly when he was set to visit the border, but many jumped onto his posts to agree wholeheartedly with the X CEO’s ideas on the border debacle.”

(Warner Todd Huston – The Western Journal) Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk is apparently fed up with the dangerous border crisis that Joe Biden has created and has now agreed with those who say that America needs to build a border wall to act as a serious deterrent to illegal immigration. The Presence of God is a Dangerous Place to Be for Sinners

“So, to present a God who winks at sin or accommodates it in any form is not just an innocent mishap or a benign deviation from the truth, it’s a blasphemous misrepresentation of who God is.”

(The Dissenter) “The God that holds you over the pit of hell, much as one holds a spider, or some loathsome insect over the fire, abhors you, and is dreadfully provoked: his wrath towards you burns like fire; he looks upon you as worthy of nothing else, but to be cast into the fire.” —Jonathan Edwards

This quote, from Edwards’ Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, is one of the most well-known in American history and is emblematic of the Puritan emphasis on the holiness and justice of God, and the peril that sinners face in His presence…. Continue reading

A morality as old as Christianity

“Here is the same message The Nation seems to have just discovered on one of their sociological safaris to the American Heartland. Christians think sex belongs in marriage and that all life, even unborn life, should be protected and celebrated….”

(Colin J. Smothers) In C. S. Lewis’s The Pilgrim’s Regress, John the protagonist finds himself in Eschropolis (“Ugly City” in Greek), where the boys look like girls and the girls look like boys, and everyone acts obscenely in their avantgarde rejection of puritanism. Scandalized by what he encounters, John objects, only to be shouted down by one of the residents: “We have got over humanitarianism!” “And prudery!” shouts another. Funny, these impulses. Two peas in a pod. Continue reading

Impeachment memo: Biden family collected $15 million in foreign money, DOJ ‘obstructed’ probe

“The President had knowledge of many of his family’s business dealings, and indeed participated in them by having phone calls and attending private dinners—including while he was Vice President…”

(John Solomon – Just the News) The three House chairmen leading the impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden told fellow lawmakers Wednesday night that the president’s family collected at least $15 million in foreign funds and that there is evidence the Justice Department “obstructed” federal agents from pursuing evidence leading to the White House. A Biblical Example of Self-Righteousness

17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and pitiable and poor and blind and naked. Revelation 3:17 (LSB)

Self-Righteousness: the attempt to meet God’s standards based upon one’s own merits.

A thorough study of our Lord’s earthly ministry reveals with certainty the following truth. Our Lord was merciful in every instance to those who were broken, humbled, and spiritually helpless before Him. On the other hand, the proud, the self-righteous, and the self-sufficient He rebuked and shunned, which is thematically summarized for us by James our Lord’s brother in his epistle. Continue reading

Biden Bombshell: James Biden confirmed to FBI family tried to help Chinese firm buy US energy assets

(John Solomon – Just the News) resident Joe Biden’s brother told the FBI the first family – including Hunter Biden – tried unsuccessfully to help a Chinese company buy U.S. energy assets and did so believing the firm’s leader was tied directly to Communist Chinese President Xi Jinping, according to explosive new documents made public Wednesday by the House Ways and Means Committee.

James Biden told the FBI in an interview last year about efforts by him and Hunter Biden to help the CEFC energy firm in China buy a liquid natural gas facility on Monkey Island off the coast of Louisiana…. Continue reading

They’re Making a List, Checking It Twice — Is Your Church Naughty or Nice?

“The only reason there’s this debate about LGBTQ+-affirming churches is that the Rainbow Mafia demands acquiescence and will take nothing less. These days, we can’t simply love gay people for who they are; we must celebrate their lifestyles if we are to be in good standing with the Pride Mob.”

(Chris Queen – PJ Media) You can’t escape the Pride Mob these days, and it looks like your church won’t be able to escape it either. This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to us, but a group at Oxford University in the UK has begun rating churches in the area based on their capitulation to the heresy of the LGBTQ movement. Debunking the Myths: How Continuationists Misrepresent Cessationism

“One of the most profound misunderstandings is the charge that cessationists “put God in a box,” claiming that He no longer heals or performs miracles. This is a gross misrepresentation. God, in His omnipotence and sovereignty, is free to act in whatever manner He chooses. The difference lies not in God’s capability but in the methods He has chosen to employ to carry out His divine purposes.”

(The Dissenter) Criticism of the doctrine of cessationism is hardly a novel phenomenon coming from the charismatic wing of professing Christendom. Yet in recent years, a concerning shift has become increasingly evident…. Continue reading

Tucker Carlson: Abortion Not ‘Political Debate’ but a ‘Spiritual Battle’

“But when you wind up in an election where the two top ballot initiatives, are one, encouraging people to kill their own kids, and two, encouraging their kids to do drugs — who’s benefiting here?”

(Katherine Hamilton – Breitbart) Tucker Carlson called out the Left’s relentless push to end the lives of the unborn in a recent address to Christians, contending that the issue of abortion is not a “political debate” but a “spiritual battle.”

The Center for Christian Virtue hosted Tucker Carlson for its gala in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 21…. Continue reading

The Business of Church Music: Examining the Legal Structure of Worship Ministries and Practice of Pastors Operating as Music Producers

“It boils down to two concepts diametrically opposed to each other. One is the concept of Christ, a blood-bought salvation, living in eternal relationship with a loving, caring God. That concept is in opposition to another called merchandising.”

(Barry Bowen – Trinity Foundation) Church music has become big business.

Ultimate Guitar reports that almost $600 million is spent annually on audio equipment and instruments for performing church music.”

Churches have become one of the most common venues for hearing live music. Continue reading

Timothy Keller: Turning Believers Into Unbelievers?

“Sadly, Keller did not follow Jesus’ example. Early in his article, “Creation, Evolution, and Christian Laypeople”, Keller described the opposition between creationists and evolutionists, specifically identifying professing believers and unbelievers who, like the rich, young ruler, doubt God.”

(Tom Hill) “…when the Son (Jesus) cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18.8)

Jesus never accepted unbelief! He challenged His own to believe fully; indeed, He often rebuked His disciples for their unbelief: Continue reading
