What is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?

28 “Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30 because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” Mark 3:28-30 (NASB)

I am sure most of those reading this have at one time or another become concerned to some degree that they had committed the unpardonable sin. Several people who I have witnessed to have told me that they couldn’t be saved because they had blasphemed against the Holy Spirit. What is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Let’s look at the passage from the book of Matthew that parallels the one I placed at the top of this post. Continue reading

Chicago police release files in ‘Empire’ star Jussie Smollett case, day after charges dramatically dropped

“The dismissal of charges against Smollett over the alleged attack drew a swift backlash from the city’s mayor and police chief and raised questions about why Smollett was not forced to admit what prosecutors had said they could prove in court — that the entire episode was a publicity stunt.”

(Fox News)  Chicago police came out swinging Wednesday and released the full 61-page investigative report in the alleged Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax, one day after charges against the “Empire” star were dramatically dropped — but the move prompted a moot court order. Continue reading

As Russia collusion fades, Ukrainian plot to help Clinton emerges

“Unlike the breathless start to the Russia collusion allegations — in which politicians and news media alike declared a Watergate-sized crisis before the evidence was fully investigated — the Ukraine revelations deserve to be investigated before being accepted.”

(John Solomon – The Hill)  After nearly three years and millions of tax dollars, the Trump-Russia collusion probe is about to be resolved. Emerging in its place is newly unearthed evidence suggesting another foreign effort to influence the 2016 election — this time, in favor of the Democrats. Continue reading

Celebrity Preacher Clayton Jennings Sent Nude Photos to Minor

“Whatever becomes of Clayton Jennings, it is absolutely fair to say that it should reflect to some extent upon his parents, who while having the opportunity to at least attempt to stop his spiritual abuse of women dead in its tracks, have instead done little more than enable him and cover up his immoral behavior.”

(JD Hall – Pulpit & Pen)  When Don Jennings was ousted from his last church for helping to cover up the sexual and spiritual predation of his son, his wife and Clayton’s mother – Lisa – demanded the church give her the rights to a longstanding passion play directed by herself each year entitled Behold the Lamb. Being a major theatrical production for a small Indiana town, seeing the ‘show biz’ continue was important for Lisa, who used it to help propel her son into the spotlight. Continue reading

The Gay Christian Ministry Changing the Face of the Evangelical Church

“Living Out has imported a serious error into the Evangelical Church, one that denies the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ on a multi-faceted level. That is, they teach that sexual-orientation is something that most people are stuck with, even after salvation.”

(Reformation Charlotte)   Jesus ate with homosexuals, so we should be accepting of them. That is the argument of the progressive gay militant propaganda machine that historically the Church found so absurd that it received little attention inside the ranks of orthodoxy. … Continue reading

He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus

24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24 (NASB)

I am a Baptist at heart. I have heard the statement, “Once Saved, Always Saved” comment more times than I could ever count. My theology has changed much in the last couple of decades, but one thing that did not change was my firm belief in the security of the believer. In Reformed Theology it is called the Perseverance of the Saints. However, I prefer the term, “Persevering Grace.” The former makes it seem as if the believer is eternally saved by his or her own merit or ability. The latter, however, states that it is God who preserves His saints by His grace. View article →

‘Angelically-Guided Energy Healing’ Leader Claims Planet Overpopulated, ‘It’s Not Okay for Women to Have Babies’

Lynn McGonagill, Lightworkers Healing Method

“Sometime in the most recent overnight, Pan and his crews have packed up a number of crates of things, and the crates are sealed, and we are supposed to deliver them up to Ra with the label ‘To Ra: extreme biohazard, data from the deeper, denser dimensions.’”

(Heather Clark – Christian News Network)  A bizarre video that was posted to YouTube last year but is currently making the rounds on social media features two New Age women stating that the earth is already too populated, and that women should “cut off the baby factories” such as by obtaining an abortion as “we don’t need any more humans.” Continue reading

‘There Was a Beginning’: Famous Geophysicist Explains Why Christian Creation Theory Makes Sense

“Atheism is often billed as the most logical form of non-belief system for any devoted and rigorous scientist. However, Meyer says that the atheist rejection of intelligent design presents many key scientific challenges.”

(Will Maule – Faithwire)  Stephen C. Meyer is a geophysicist and author of New York Times bestseller, “Darwin’s Doubt.” Despite not being a Christian himself, after years of scientific study, Meyer came to the conclusion that there simply must be an intelligent designer behind our creation.

In addition, contrary to many within his discipline, Meyer believes that expert scientific study of the origins of the universe can conclude a number of assertions that are in common with the central tenets of theistic beliefs. In a wide-ranging interview on the Ben Shapiro Show, Meyer also criticized Darwin’s evolutionary theory as being unable to answer the biggest question of all — how did life actually begin? Justice Department sides with court ruling ObamaCare invalid

“That stance was a major issue in last year’s midterm elections, and many Republican candidates in tough races struggled with whether to say they agreed with the Trump administration’s position.”

(Peter Sullivan – The Hill)  The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Monday announced that it is siding with a district court ruling that found the Affordable Care Act unconstitutional.

The move is an escalation of the Trump administration’s legal battle against the health care law. Continue reading

Homosexual ‘Christianity’ – What is Happening?

“There is no more a homosexual “Christian” than there is a homicidal “Christian”: It is a monstrous delusion. If the desire of the heart is such that one purposefully identifies as an “any sin-Christian,” regeneration has not occurred.”

(Toni S. Brown)  In all its clear deception, the homosexual “Christian” movement is spreading like gangrene, packed full of emotion and cloaked in biblical language, it leaves many dumbfounded as to how such a radically unbiblical lie could possibly “catch-on” in so-called biblically sound churches? For the answer, we must survey who is now promoting the lie of same-sex attracted(SSA) “Christians.” … Continue reading

Unity of mind among Christians is born from our union with Christ

8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; 9 not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3:8-9 (NASB)

I have always used this ministry to stand against compromise of the Gospel and all that goes with it just as Charles Spurgeon did in the late 19th Century during the Down Grade Controversy. This stand has never been popular with the majority of professing Christians. That’s fine, I don’t do this in order make the majority of professing Christians like me or to make them feel good about what they are doing in their local churches or to continue to follow certain Christian leaders who claim to be solid in doctrine while actually ministering on the side in ways that, if made public, would ruin their reputations and cause them to lose not only followers, but who knows how much money. Thabiti Anyabwile, The Heretic

“According to Anyabwile, true faith doesn’t vote for GOP candidates, it contends for reparations. True faith hires pastors based on melanin and diversity standards rather than biblical qualifications. True faith contends for open borders and manipulates the civil magistrate and so on and so forth. By making these matters issues of true faith, Anyabwile makes them issues of the gospel, and by doing so he has also created a sect or faction of sorts. And this sect holds that these issues are gospel issues.”

(Ed Dingess – Reformation Charlotte)   Heresy, or heretic, are not words that I generally drop lightly these days. I used to, but one thing I’ve learned over the years is to approach heresy — especially within orthodox ranks — with a tremendous amount of precision and care. After several years of following Thabiti Anyabwile and the ideology that he continues to push, I believe it is safe to say that he has crossed the line of heresy. Continue reading

Francis Chan is apostatizing before our eyes

“Francis Chan sadly is apostatizing before our eyes. He hasn’t just begun. He isn’t in the kiddie pool. He is in the deep end, swimming with sharks, coyly denying that they’re sharks in the first place, and saying the water’s fine.”

(Elizabeth Prata – The End Time)  Apostasy is defined as ‘a defection or revolt’. It is the formal disaffiliation from or abandonment or renunciation of a religion by a person. One who commits apostasy in religion (or who apostatizes) is known as an apostate. In Christianity, it is important to remember that apostates never really were saved. 1 John 2:19 says, Continue reading

Mueller report summary released, showing no proof Trump team conspired with Russia

Democrats are devastated that evidence shows that President Trump is not a Russian agent.

Even after Special Council Robert Mueller destroyed the Trump-hater’s “Russian collusion” conspiracy theory, the Left continue to insist that they lost the election because Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin. The reason Dems lost is because Hillary Clinton was a terrible candidate who ran a bad campaign. Democratic lawmakers, aided by the irresponsible media, continue to spread lies and call for more investigations and impeachment. President Trump has been vindicated. Time to move on.

(Gregg Re – Fox News)  Attorney General William Barr on Sunday released the “principal conclusions” of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s completed Russia probe in a bombshell four-page letter to Capitol Hill lawmakers, which stated definitively that Mueller did not establish evidence that President Trump’s team or any associates of the Trump campaign had conspired with Russia to sway the 2016 election — “despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign.” Continue reading

The ability to walk in holiness is directly related to our willingness to suffer in the flesh for Christ’s sake

17 So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. Ephesians 4:17-24 (NASB) (Read verses 20-24 on the site)

From the moment the Gospel was first preached, it has been under attack. Impostors have come along pretending to be genuine Christians or preachers or teachers and they have led many to destruction. Part of my planning for this post was research into The Down-Grade Controversy that Charles Spurgeon was engaged in for many years until his death. When I started this blog back in 2006 a group of bloggers resisted nearly everything I and the rest of the CRN team did. Many of them were part of the Christian Restoration Movement. View article →

Holding fast the word of life

19 But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the gates of the prison, and taking them out he said, 20 “Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this Life.” Acts 5:19-20 (NASB)

We are in a period of the Church in which we must keep our eyes fixed on Christ alone for if we look to men we are in danger of being deceived.  To counter this, we must become focused where God wants us to be focused, doing as He desires us to be doing. Continue reading

Google Search Bias Flipped Seats for Democrats in Midterms

“As the Los Angeles Times notes, Epstein is not a Republican and publicly supported Hillary Clinton in 2016. Nevertheless, Democrats and liberals continue to ignore or doubt his findings.”

(Alum Bokhari – Breitbart)  New research from psychologist and search engine expert Dr. Robert Epstein shows that biased Google searches had a measurable impact on the 2018 midterm elections, pushing tens of thousands of votes towards the Democrat candidates in three key congressional races, and potentially millions more in races across the country. Beth Moore and Gay Activist Preston Sprinkle Defend Francis Chan

Echoing John Piper’s famous “Farewell Rob Bell” tweet, one author even wrote an article titled “Farewell Francis,” expressing the long-overdue need to write Chan off. In a half-hearted attempt to save face, however, after much criticism from broader Evangelicalism, Chan responds to his critics and tries to defend his indefensible actions.

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  What do you get when you cross the Cows of Bashan with LifeWay’s incessant need for cash? Beth Moore. Continue reading

Engaging The Culture: Beating The Secularists At Their Own Game?

“There is more that could be said but this should be enough for the reader to see some of the difficulties inherent in this new approach to sexuality and to apologetics in the church. The early Christian response to pagan criticisms was not to put forward those who identified themselves according to their sinful proclivities. An important part of the early Christian apologetic was their resolute adherence to God’s moral law, not in order to be saved but because they had been saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.”

(R. Scott Clark – Abounding Grace Radio)  In a recent essay, Rebecca McLaughlin calls for Christians to stop retreating and to “go on the offensive.” She makes some valuable observations. She is right to note that, though Christianity seems to be in trouble in the West, globally it is flourishing. … Continue reading

‘Clinging For Survival’: Mike Pence Issues Urgent Call to Help the Persecuted Church

According to persecution watchdog, International Christian Concern, some 23 people were murdered in the attacks, which were perpetrated with machetes and firearms. “It was bad. They killed over 20 people. Some were killed by gunshots and some by machete hacks!”

(Will Maule – Faith Wire) Vice President Mike Pence has issued an “urgent call” to assist the persecuted Church around the globe. Speaking at the “Help the Persecuted” summit in Washington D.C. Friday, Pence said that “No people of faith face greater hostility or hatred than followers of Christ” and called on American Christians to stand with them. Continue reading

Biblical unity and separation

5 For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city as I directed you, 6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion.  Titus 1:5-9 (NASB)  (Read verses 7-9 on the site)

It doesn’t take very long for me to discern whether the person I am dealing with is truly God’s man or woman or is a pretender. That personal interaction is necessary for me to see the true nature and focus of the person. As we debate or discuss doctrinal or church issues or even secular issues it soon becomes very clear whether I am dealing with someone who is walking within the Lordship of Christ or is their own man or woman. Their values soon become apparent. All of us are in various stages of spiritual growth and repentance to be sure, but the mark of the washing of regeneration is there to be seen in all of God’s people that cannot be counterfeited. Of course, this is only discernible by those who are looking for it and then only through God’s testing fires. View article →

LifeWay to Close All of Its Stores This Year

Christian book seller, LifeWay, carries books by false teacher Beth Moore, Word of Faith prosperity preachers, anti-trinitarians, New Agers, Roman Catholics, those who allege they’ve gone to heaven and returned to tell about it, “gay Christian” activists, and the controversial The Message “bible” written by apostate Eugene Peterson. The retailer announced that all its stores will be closing. Reformation Charlotte has the story:

LifeWay Christian Stores is the retail chain of the Southern Baptist Convention under the direction of Thom Rainer who has been under fire for many years for peddling heresy to Christians for cash. Previously, LifeWay announced that they would be closing “a number of stores” in a letter sent out to employees in January due to “accelerated rate of erosion.” Today, LifeWay announced that they would be closing all stores.
