Satan’s Strategy: What’s to Fear?

“Sometimes fleeing temptation means removing myself physically from a situation where the temptation to sin is great. With regard to some movies, for example, fleeing temptation may well mean leaving the room (or better yet, checking out the movie’s content before exposing yourself to the temptation). Sometimes fleeing temptation means removing myself electronically from compromising situations. I flee temptation when I install software to prevent viewing pornography on my computer.”

(Robert Spinney – Reformation 21)  Satan tempts us to not fear sin, so that we will not keep a safe distance from it. Continue reading

Ministering in Disgraceful Underhanded Ways

21 Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death. Romans 6:21 (NASB)

As many of you know I am a Southern Baptist. However, things sure have changed over the last few years. I have said in other posts how becoming Reformed in my theology helped me tremendously to both to become more mature as a Christian and also to become more discerning. I have also shared how it seemed that those of us who seemed to be able to withstand the seeker sensitive and emergent onslaught the best were Reformed…. Continue reading

BREAKING: Rush Limbaugh Announces He Has ‘Advanced Lung Cancer’

“So, I have to tell you something today that I wish I didn’t have to tell you. It’s a struggle for me because I had to inform my staff earlier today,” he said. “I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down. The upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer.”

(Brian Floyd – Fox News) Talk radio king Rush Limbaugh stunned his 27-million member audience Monday with the announcement he’s been diagnosed with “advanced lung cancer.” The 69-year-old conservative talk pioneer closed his broadcast with the grim news, saying he will be leaving his golden EIB microphone for treatment, but hopes to return soon. The Struggles of the Christian Life

As you face struggles in your life today, whether they be great or small, know that God has a purpose and plan behind each of them. We are never at the hand of fate or chance. The Christian has a loving heavenly father who is testing, correcting, and building our faith by the situations of our lives.

(Kyle E. Sims – Gentle Reformation)  Struggles are a significant part of the Christian life. If our view of God and life is too simple, then it can lead to frustration and fear. We are left to wonder, “If God is in control, then why am I facing this struggle? If God’s eternal plan is working, then why did he plan for me to deal with these issues in my life?” These are fair questions, but ones for which we must come to a correct answer…. Continue reading

Global Awakening or Global Darkness?

“After posting the last two videos of what’s currently going on at Bethel, I received a lot of comments on Instagram and Facebook from Charismatic/Pentecostal brothers and sisters in Christ who expressed that “EVEN THEY” can see that what Bethel is doing is not of God & is completely unbiblical. That truly speaks volumes to me and I hope that speaks volumes to those at Bethel too.”

(Churchwatch Central)  Over the last few days there’s been some bizarre videos doing the rounds on social media in regards to an event in Bethel Redding – an event where we see NARpostle Randy Clark clearly ‘imparting’ something incredibly dark and demonic. The event was part of Randy Clark’s Global Awakening (‘Voice of the Prophets, Come Dream Again’) movement – and of course we should never be surprised to see Bethel Church, Redding and Bill Johnson partnering with such unbiblical events. J-Lo and Shakira Super Bowl Halftime Show Features Kids in Cages

“We must pray for all the churches out there who brought crotch-grabbing, pelvic-thrusting, air-humping hussies into the church. May the Lord grant them repentance and wisdom.”

“So, in case you missed it during the #HalftimeShow, this powerful moment showed children in ‘cages’ as “Born In The USA” played… the statement. the power. wow.”

“I don’t expect the world to act like the church, but our country has had a sense of moral decency on prime time television in order to protect children. We see that disappearing before our eyes. It was demonstrated tonight in the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show—with millions of children watching.”

“Best Superbowl halftime show ever.” – Jeb Bush

(Dylan Gwinn – Breitbart) The Super Bowl halftime show with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, appeared to feature several children in cages. Continue reading

Standing firm as a good soldier of Christ Jesus

12 Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 13 But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:12-13 (NASB)

The Christian has been called by God to serve the Lord Jesus as His bondservant (δουλος). This role of bondservant also includes being His obedient disciple and valiant warrior. I grew up in an era in which there just was not much turmoil in the churches I was part of. Continue reading

The Christian is a new creation

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. (Romans 6:1-14 ESV) Read verses 6-14 on the site.

The Doctrine of Regeneration tells Christians that the life they live now will not be as it once was, but will take on the characteristics of regeneration. The Christian is a new creation…. Continue reading

Should we care about a Bible teacher’s lifestyle?

“One of the other frequent accusations I received, aside from the usual nonsense of me being jealous or covetous, is that writing about a Bible teacher’s lifestyle is none of my business. To the contrary, it is all our business. Ministry money is involved, the teacher’s lifestyle is reflective of what is in their heart, what they heap up and what they care about.”

(Elizabeth Prata – The End Time)  I tweeted about Beth Moore’s lifestyle today. I knew what would happen. That does not deter me though. Here’s what I tweeted in reaction to a disingenuous photo tweet from Moore about her cutesy lifestyle. Continue reading

Ed Stetzer Invites Pro-Gay Speaker and ‘Nashville Statement’ Opponent to Billy Graham Center

“Stetzer took part in a Marxist think-tank meeting at Wheaton in April of 2018, in which Soros’ “rented evangelicals” took part, designed to brainstorm ways to keep Trump from being elected in 2020. Conservatives walked-out of that meeting when they discovered its real purpose.”

(Pulpit & Pen)  Ed Stetzer, the disgraced former Lifeway executive who knowingly sold false Heaven Tourism books before being publicly exposed by Alex Malarkey, is now at the center of the leftist movement within evangelicalism…. Continue reading

Why Roman Catholic Countries Should be Considered Unreached

“Sure, Evangelicals and Catholics have some words in common, but they mean entirely different things. Grace, faith, saints, church, Jesus, Mary are all words that we might both say but they are entirely different in meaning. The Roman Catholic Church believes in salvation through merit, but Evangelical Christianity rejects that entirely.”

(Jordan Standridge – The Cripplegate) Thankfully, the American church is becoming more aware of unreached people groups. Continue reading

Lauren Daigle and the Fruit of ‘Losing Her Religion’

“She took her personal dream of stardom and attributed it to God.  There is much danger in this kind of mystical dream interpretation. It may have come to pass, but God does not affirm pursuit of the praise of men and I cannot say this is anything more than her pursuit of a personal desire.”

(Laura M) “It would be a sad dishonor for a child of God to be the world’s favorite. It is a very bad sign to hear a wicked world clap its hands and shout, “Well done!” to the Christian…Far be it from us to seek a crown of honor where the Lord found a crown of thorns.”  CH Spurgeon

Peeking Into the Devil’s Playbook

But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.  James 1:14-15

Temptation is an issue that Christians rarely talk about these days. Even the word itself has quietly slipped out of religious use, becoming instead a term used to boost sales of perfume and chocolates. Attempting to create an electrifying name that would attract big audiences, television producers titled a reality show “Temptation Island.”…. Continue reading

Cross-dressing LGBT activist to appear on ‘Sesame Street’

Photo credit: LifeSiteNews – Sesame Street Facebook page

“The LGBT activist’s ‘fierce vibes’ are coming to the beloved children’s show, according to Sesame Street’s official Facebook page.”

(Calvin Freiburger – LifeSiteNews) Bert and Ernie may not be a same-sex couple, but the long-running children’s franchise Sesame Street is about to get an infusion of LGBT “vibes” with an upcoming guest appearance by actor and LGBT activist Billy Porter.

Porter, best known as Pray Tell in the FX’s LGBT ballroom drama Pose and for wearing extravagant dresses, will appear during the 51st season of the beloved children’s show, according to Sesame Street’s official Facebook page. Continue reading

The Gospel Coalition Implies Both Political Parties Are Morally Equivalent, So it Doesn’t Really Matter How You Vote

“Of course, any biblically-minded person who is actually informed on the subject knows that this is completely absurd and that only a Democrat would make this argument. If we actually examine the facts, a born-again Christian who knows the Scriptures can only come to the conclusion that the Democrat party is completely vicious…”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  The Gospel Coalition is on a mission to move Evangelicals in a leftward direction both politically and theologically…. Continue reading

Brexit a Historic Day for United Kingdom, Europe, and the Western World

Reflecting that the British people had now won a battle against globalism, Mr Farage compared the victory to the Presidency of Donald Trump in the United States, which like Brexit was also a product of a 2016 vote and — it has been claimed — one in which American voters took a measure of confidence from the audacity of their British cousins in voting against the status quo.

(Oliver JJ Lane – Breitbart)  Brexit leader Nigel Farage has hailed Brexit Day as a time to celebrate, but noted much work remains to be done and vowed he would be sticking around to hold the Prime Minister to his word. Continue reading

Willow Creek Honored as ‘Living Legend’ the Co-Founder It Believed Abused Congregant

“Hybels instructed everyone in the arena to “stand respectfully.” Then, with spotlights waving, a voice announced Bilezikian as he would a star player for the Chicago Bulls “to be remembered forever.” The announcer named Bilezikian’s height and weight, but also mentioned his professional accomplishments, referring to him as a living legend.”

(Julie Roys)  The leadership of Willow Creek Community Church says it has believed for the past 10 years that its co-founder, Dr. Gilbert Bilezikian, engaged in “sinful” behavior, including kissing and “inappropriate touching” of a congregant. For this, Willow Creek said it banned Bilezikian in 2010 from serving at the church. Continue reading

Timidity is not of God

7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 (NASB)

I remember a preacher who filled in for ours once for some reason. I was about 15 or so at the time. He was an older gentleman with a big booming voice and a head full of white hair. He was so different from our preacher that I actually listened to what he said. I believe that the person from the Bible he was talking about was Isaac. I remember him commenting on the fact that he was timid or shy or fearful. In my mind I thought of that person as shy or bashful by the way he described him…. Continue reading

Ten Truths about a Liar

“In Revelation 2:10, Jesus states that Satan is in the process of influencing Smyrna’s legal proceedings by throwing a collection of Christians into prison. Likewise, in Job 1:17, he manipulates the Chaldeans, encouraging them to steal Job’s livestock. Though we are not told how he exerts his influence, we surmise he is the agent of these activities.”

(Sam Bierig – For The Church)  Is Satan capable of inception? Does he whisper temptations in our ear? Is Satan’s authority, power, and relationship to unbelievers the same or different from Christians? These are all valid and, frankly, somewhat haunting questions…. Continue reading

SBC Megachurch Replaces Sunday Morning Preaching of Christ with Interview of Former White House Press Secretary

“Keep in mind, this is the same Jeffress who promoted well-known prosperity gospel charlatan, Paula White’s book because it was politically expedient to do so.”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  Nothing gives ammunition to the social justice progressive wing of Evangelicalism — who continually tirades against conservatives for throwing support behind Trump — more than the actions of right-wing Evangelical political hacks like Robert Jeffress…. Discernment IS Love

“Was Paul being unloving when he turned Hymenaeus and Alexander over to Satan so they would learn not to blaspheme? (1 Timothy 1:19-20)”

(Michelle Lesley)  I’m often accused of being “unloving” for writing in a direct or firm tone against false doctrine and other unbiblical issues in the church.

I received another such accusation recently on one of my older articles, “Nine Reasons Discerning Women Are Leaving Your Church“…. Continue reading

Judging by their actions, it certainly doesn’t seem like climate alarmists believe their own claims

“I’m one of millions of people around the world that are convinced that Jesus of Nazareth was who He said He was. I’m confident that the evidence proves beyond reasonable doubt that He lived, was crucified, and resurrected from the grave, offering humanity its only hope of escaping an eternity of facing God’s righteous judgment against sin. If we were wrong about that (we’re not), it’s still obvious to anyone that our belief is genuine. How? It changes the way we live our lives.”

(Peter Heck – Disrn)  I know they undoubtedly see me, a climate realist, as their enemy. To the Warmers, I and every other fellow skeptic of the anthropogenic (man-caused) climate change hysterics are to be dismissed as “deniers,” or perhaps a mere, “contrarian, science mangler, doubt spreader, and denialist.” Continue reading

The Inspiration of Scripture

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NASB)

I receive numerous comments on the posts on this blog from people that never see the light of day because those who post them either do not bother to follow the rules clearly posted, which are assiduously enforced, or they have failed to read them…. Continue reading

The Greatest Ruse in History — Trump’s Impeachment

“Perhaps undermining the Democrats credibility is that they cried wolf way too often against the president. Two years of federal and Congressional probes, and the Mueller probe with 500 witnesses and $50 million spent, no evidence was uncovered showing the Trump campaign colluded with Russia. Still, this didn’t stop the Democrats for the past year claiming Trump was guilty of obstruction of justice. (A claim, funny enough, that never saw daylight in the articles of impeachment.)”

(Christopher Ruddy – NewsMax)  The Senate is on the verge of a verdict in the impeachment trial of President Donald John Trump. Continue reading
