The Gospel Coalition Publishes a False, Christless Gospel Using Only Taylor Swift Lyrics

(The Dissenter) In a bizarre modern trend, Evangelicals have taken a peculiar fascination with pop idols, Taylor Swift being the most recent glaring example. Whether it be Christianity Today’s assertion that Taylor Swift “brings Christians together,” churches finding pop stars like these more attractive than Jesus, or even the Museum of the Bible promoting her at their events, this bewildering obsession marks an extreme departure from the Church’s mission and calling.

Elevating such pop idols to a platform that rivals, in many cases, even Jesus Himself not only dilutes but perverts essence of Christianity but ventures into the extremely bizarre, attempting to marry the sacred with the profane in a union that seems more suited for tabloid sensationalism than theological reflection…. Judge Cannon Hammers Jack Smith’s Documents Case, Cites Hur

(Mary Dowling) Former President Donald Trump is in a Florida courtroom today in the Jack Smith classified documents case. Judge Cannon cited Robert Hur’s report of the “elderly” guy with the “poor memory” in the Oval Office who committed several felonies regarding classified documents.

Hur’s report shows that Joe Biden willfully and intentionally mishandled classified documents. Biden stole them without the right to do so and shared them with an author who had no right to see them legally. The author even obstructed justice. Continue reading

Schumer Wants Netanyahu Ousted, Calls for New Elections in Israel

“This move comes despite his Jewish roots and his past public support of Israel in the wake of the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas. In November, Schumer admitted that the rise in antisemitism in America after October 7 was coming from the political left.”

(Matt Margolis – PJ Media) I’m old enough to remember when Democrats expressed outrage over foreign countries allegedly trying to interfere with U.S. elections. But like everything else, foreign election interference is okay if they do it. Continue reading

Jesus: The Illumined Illuminator (Flashback)

This article by CRN managing editor Marsha West was published April 12, 2012.

Contemporary Christianity is following “every wind of doctrine” in spite of the fact that the Bible warns about taking this route. Self-professed Christ followers no longer “endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions” (2 Tim. 4:3).

Regrettably, many believers have embraced neo-Gnosticism.

One of the many obstacles the first century Church faced was Gnosticism, a heresy that held that salvation was only available to those who possessed the hidden truths of Christ.  GotQuestions.com explains Gnosticism thusly:

Christian Gnosticism is the belief that one must have a “gnosis” (from Greek “Gnosko,” to know) or inner knowledge which is mystical knowledge obtained only after one has been properly initiated. Only a few can possess this mystical knowledge, limiting the number of those “in the know”. … Gnosticism today seems to provide a lot of the form and color for the New Age portrait of Jesus where Jesus is seen as the illumined Illuminator: one who serves as a cosmic catalyst for others’ awakening. As such it is as false and heretical as the Gnosticism of the first century and needs to be roundly condemned for the heresy that it is.

UK Bans Harmful Puberty Blockers for Kids

“Doctors and politicians have already called on America to follow England’s lead on banning puberty blockers…Sen. Roger Marshall, a physician, said, “[L]et my message to America and the radical gender ideologues be clear: Wake up.”

(Catherine Salgado – PJ Media) In a victory for sanity, the United Kingdom has reportedly banned damaging puberty blockers for kids.

England’s National Health Service (NHS) has banned puberty blockers for “transgender” identifying children, according to Breitbart. Back in 2022, research highlighted the potentially severe long-term side effects of puberty blockers, which are prescribed to some children who identify as “transgender.” The NHS’s decision is good news, helping ensure that kids can grow up normal and healthy. Is Laken Riley’s Life Worth Less Than George Floyd’s?

“Democrats are accusing Republicans of trying to “score cheap political” points by demanding that migrants be vetted before being allowed in the U.S.”

(Betsy McCaughey – The Patriot Post) George Floyd’s death during a police chokehold on May 25, 2020, ignited nationwide protests to reform police procedures.

Referring to Floyd’s ordeal, former President Donald Trump said, “It doesn’t get any worse than that,” and within three weeks Trump signed an executive order establishing an abuse of force database and calling for improved police practices. Continue reading

The Liberty Christ Hath Purchased

“In our sin-fallen, law-cursed state, all people are in slavery to sin and in bondage to Satan, the prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2:2). Of course, all who sin are subject to death, since “the wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23), or as Paul elsewhere writes, “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law” (1 Cor. 15:56). Blessedly, God does not leave us in our cursed state but has sent His Son to redeem us…”

(J.V. Fesco) The French novelist Victor Hugo (1802–85) writes of the fall and redemption of Jean Valjean, the chief protagonist of his popular book Les Misérables. Valjean found himself released from prison after serving nineteen long and arduous years for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his famished family. After his release, he eventually found shelter in a local church…. Continue reading

Unpacking ‘No Creed but the Bible’

“In short, one purpose of confessions is to provide a “form of sound words,” to borrow Paul’s phrase, that sets forth, in brief, important biblical truth.”

(Carl Trueman) Many Christians from non-denominational evangelical backgrounds may well have heard the phrase “no creed but the Bible” at some point. Perhaps a pastor has used it while preaching or somebody has used it at a Bible study or in conversation about what Christians are supposed to believe. As a statement it is concise and clear. But the key question is, Is it a faithful and useful principle for guiding how we as Christians think about Christian truth and authority? Continue reading

Coup Plot: Biden’s Intel Agencies ‘Expect’ Protests to Topple Netanyahu for ‘Moderate’ Leader

“As Breitbart News noted earlier Monday, reports have already emerged that the Biden administration is seeking Israeli consultants to help topple Netanyahu’s coalition.”

(Joel B. Pollak – Breitbart) U.S. intelligence agencies are claiming that they “expect” protests to bring down the Israeli government and replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been an obstacle to President Joe Biden’s plans for the Middle East. Continue reading

Fake Conservative Commentator David French Urges Republicans to Vote for Biden

“To put it simply, French tells Christians not to believe their own eyes and ears, and especially not to harken to the angry and vitriolic State of the Union speech a few days ago where Biden recommitted his…abortion policies to restore abortion up to birth across the land.”

(Protestia) David French, who we like to unaffectionately call ‘The State’s Fool”, is a self-proclaimed “conservative” Christian commentator who can always be counted on to give the worst take possible on any situation, including the whim of whatever demon is whispering into his ear at any given moment. John Piper Says Our Love for Jesus is ‘Erotic to the Core’

“The question that I continue to see popping up around the Shepherd’s Conference and other conferences is “why is John Piper even there?” It is a good question, indeed. It’s like Tim Keller—he is elevated to the status of “great thinker” and “superb theologian” when, in reality, so much of what they say is reduced to mere sophistry and casuistry.”

(The Dissenter) You may remember last year when The Dissenter published an article denouncing the deeply erotic and nearly pornographic nature in which a TGC author, Joshua Butler, described Christ’s relationship to the Church…. Continue reading

Biden’s Unmedicated Brain Continues to Fail Him After State of the Union

Watch the videos.

(Matt Margolis – PJ Media) As the liberal media tries desperately to push the narrative that Joe Biden’s 2024 “fiery” State of the Union address was proof he’s energetic and capable of handling the presidency, evidence continues to support the theory he was medicated for the speech.

PJ Media previously reported that an expert who watched the speech said Biden appeared to be under the influence of “Adderall or an amphetamine.” Continue reading

Exclusive: Liz Cheney, January 6 Committee Suppressed Exonerating Evidence Of Trump’s Push For National Guard

(Mollie Hemingway – The Federalist) Former Rep. Liz Cheney’s January 6 Committee suppressed evidence that President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation’s capital, a previously hidden transcript obtained by The Federalist shows.

Cheney and her committee falsely claimed they had “no evidence” to support Trump officials’ claims the White House had communicated its desire for 10,000 National Guard troops. In fact, an early transcribed interview conducted by the committee included precisely that evidence from a key source. The interview, which Cheney attended and personally participated in, was suppressed from public release until now. Continue reading

Poor White Trump Voters – Enemies of the State

Schaller and Waldman waste no time in the book identifying “rural” and “urban” as the defining major divide in this country, and painting a picture of paranoid, bitter, enraged, Trump-deluded, working class country music fans as existential Enemies of the State.

(Mark Tapson – Front Page) As this critical 2024 presidential election draws closer, the panicked left finds themselves without a candidate even remotely capable of defeating Donald Trump – an inexorable, MAGA juggernaut that the Democrat Party cannot seem to stop no matter how many trumped-up (pun intended) lawsuits and investigations they throw in his path to a second Presidency. 170 House Dems Vote Against Laken Riley Act Requiring Biden Regime to Detain Criminal Illegal Aliens

“Democrats don’t care about your safety!” the House Judiciary GOP posted on X shortly after the vote. “Will @chuckschumer allow a vote on the Laken Riley Act in the Senate? Would @JoeBiden veto it?”

(Debra Heine – American Greatness) The vast majority of House Democrats on Thursday voted against the Laken Riley Act, a bill that requires federal immigration authorities to arrest and deport illegal immigrants charged with local theft or burglary. The act passed by a 251-170 vote, with only 37 Democrats joining Republicans to advance the bill. Continue reading

Fact-Checking the Fabulist in Chief’s State of the Union

“Then, in a huge gaffe, Biden mispronounced Laken Riley’s name, calling her “Lincoln Riley” and acknowledging an illegal immigrant killed her. He added, “How many thousands of people are being killed by illegals?” Great question, Joe. Then he went on a weird rant about human smuggling and asserted that fewer people would pay coyotes if waited for six weeks for a hearing rather than six months.”

(Stacey Lennox – PJ Media) Joe Biden has always had a casual relationship with the truth. Just ask any Gold Star parent who has had to listen to him lie about his son Beau dying in Iraq. During Thursday’s State of the Union address, Biden fully displayed his fabulist tendencies. His assessment of the administration’s accomplishments and his impact was not anchored in reality. Democrats, Not Trump Or His Supporters, Are The Real Extremists

“On abortion, [Democrats] take the extreme position that it should be allowed up until the moment of birth, then denounce Republican-led states that impose restrictions that are the norm across the Western world. On transgenderism, they insist children can consent to genital mutilation and sterilization, then condemn modest efforts to ban or limit these practices as child abuse. On immigration, they throw open the southern border and let 10 million illegal immigrants flood into the country, then attack anyone who suggests we have a crisis at the border and need to secure it.”

(John Daniel Davidson – The Federalist) Hot on the heels of a 9-0 Supreme Court ruling on Monday that states have “no power” to remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot, Democrats and their lackeys in the corporate press denounced the court for supposedly meddling or interfering in the election. J.K. Rowling Nukes Argument for Biological Men in Women’s Bathrooms

“It is too seldom noted that every single man arguing for the removal of single-sex spaces is arguing for his own right to enter those spaces. I know from experience that they feign outrage when this point is put to them, gibbering that they’re just being good, virtuous progressives who’re standing up for trans women, that they personally won’t be availing themselves of the new opportunities afforded them.”

(Catherine Salgado – PJ Media) Delusional leftists believe that, with a wave of their wands, they can magically become members of the opposite sex — with a right to use whichever locker room they like. “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling called out just how such policies exponentially increase the opportunity for male sexual predators to prey on girls and women. Continue reading

The Coming Judgment of God on the Modern American Church

“Leviticus warns of the ultimate degradation of moral fiber, illustrating the extreme measures to which God is willing to go in order to cleanse His people of their sinfulness. “You shall eat the flesh of your sons, and you shall eat the flesh of your daughters.” —Leviticus 26:29”

(The Dissenter) All throughout the History of the Church, the Bride of Christ, has stood a harlot who masquerades as the elect but lures people into the depths of darkness with seductive words and practices…. Continue reading

Christian employers do not have to pay for transgender surgeries, federal judge rules

(Grant Haun – The Sentinel) The Biden administration was barred on Monday from forcing nonprofit and for-profit Christian healthcare providers to pay for purported “gender transition” surgeries and hormones.

Christian Employers Alliance, represented by attorneys at the Alliance Defending Freedom, had asked the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota to stop the Biden administration from enforcing two rules that prevent Christian companies from discriminating over the “gender identity” of patients and employees…. Reject Vice. Just Say No – No porn, no pot, no gambling, no video games, no tattoos, no profanity

“A community with this moral ecology would be valuable to anyone. A logical place to create one would be the church. But I think it would be very difficult for evangelical churches to create this culture when it comes to vice. They struggle with anything they can’t describe as objectively sinful or linked to some Biblical proof text. Porn is obviously wrong. But is it a sin to buy a lottery ticket or get a tattoo? I’d say no.”

(Aaron Renn) In his 1987 novel The Bonfire of the Vanities, Tom Wolfe wrote, “If you want to live in New York, you’ve got to insulate, insulate, insulate.” Continue reading

Top Evangelical Leftist Ring-Leaders are Even Further Left Than ‘I Don’t Know What a Woman Is’ Ketanji Brown Jackson

“Despite all of this, two of the nation’s top Evangelical liberal figureheads, Russell Moore and David French, are even further left than these far-left progressive activists on the Supreme Court.”

(The Dissenter) The appointment of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court has cast a long shadow over the principles of constitutional fidelity and judicial restraint. Her ascent to the bench, celebrated by progressives, is an unmitigated testament to the far-left’s grip on the levers of power, where ideology most often trumps impartiality…. Continue reading
