Survey Finds Many Americans Look to Themselves, Others Rather Than Bible When Making Moral Decisions

“The adults most likely to rely upon a religious resource — usually the Bible — were those aligned with either an evangelical church (58%) or Pentecostal church (62%),” the report states. “People associated with a mainline Protestant  congregation were most likely to rely upon themselves for moral wisdom (34%). Catholics were most likely to turn to other people (34%).”

(Heather Clark – Christian News)  The sixth installation of the nationwide “American Worldview” survey conducted by Dr. George Barna and the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University found that 61 percent of respondents said they look to themselves or other people when making moral decisions. Less than one third said that they look to the Bible. Continue reading

US is in turmoil, Europe is weak and China is now on the move — without apologies

Beijing has warned European nations that if their independent media continued to condemn China, there could be commercial retaliation. A few European journalists still exposed Chinese deceit, even as shaken EU leaders backtracked and tried to contextualize Chinese misbehavior.

(Victor Davis Hanson)  George Floyd was killed in Minneapolis last week when a police officer used brutally excessive force to arrest him. It was the latest in a string of high-profile cases nationwide in which citizens, most of them African Americans, died from reckless police force. Once again, protests over police brutality turned violent and rioting ensued. Continue reading

We’ve Reached the Book Burning Phase of 2020 Riot Wokeness

Just when you think that there couldn’t be anything more annoying than watching idiots kneel all about the place comes a post on NPR.org titled “Your Bookshelf May Be Part of the Problem.”

(Stephen Kruiser – PJ Media)  Well, Ray Bradbury warned us, didn’t he? Or he tried to, anyway.

As this once great land descends even further into this “check your privilege” wokescold madness, the lawless not only want to govern your actions but your thoughts as well. What so many are hailing as a transformative moment in American history is really a dystopian thought-policing nightmare. Continue reading

Left wants to end social turmoil by eliminating police

(OneNewsNow)  When addressing the social upheaval resulting from Minneapolis white police officer Derek Chauvin killing George Floyd during a routine arrest by unnecessarily applying his knee on the African American’s neck, Fox News’ Sean Hannity commented on how the left wants to do away with police and form armed bands of citizens instead.

The conservative host of The Sean Hannity Show was referring to the Washington Examiner Chief Political Correspondent Byron York, who anticipated via social media the left’s next move in the racial tensions caused by Floyd’s tragic death. Continue reading

What Happens When God Leaves Us to Ourselves?

30 It was Hezekiah who stopped the upper outlet of the waters of Gihon and directed them to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all that he did. 31 Even in the matter of the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone only to test him, that He might know all that was in his heart. 2 Chronicles 32:30-31 (NASB)

I doubt if any professing Christian who is a genuine child of God has not come to that sobering and often devastating realization in which God has taken His hand away just enough so that decisions are made and actions are taken apart from His wise counsel…. Continue reading

God’s Firm Foundation Stands

18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Matthew 16:18 (NASB)

My father-in-law went on to be with the Lord several years ago, but during World War II he was a U.S. Navy Pharmist’s Mate. In today’s Navy, they are called Corpsmen. These are the medics who hit the beach or land in the choppers with the Marines or Navy Seals when they go into real combat. My father-in-law hit the beach with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific on the Islands of Peleliu and Okinawa…. Continue reading

America’s Make-Believe Moment

“Let’s all pretend that hairdressers who open their businesses in defiance of ukases masquerading as laws deserve jail time but activists who pillage businesses in defiance of law and lockdowns deserve the get-out-of-jail-free card awarded them by bail reform.”

(Daniel J. Flynn – The American Spectator)  Let’s all pretend a Republican now serves as mayor of Minneapolis rather than for one day out of the last 59 years. Continue reading

Rebellious Bible-Twister, Beth Moore, Says God is Reckoning America Over Misuse of Bible

“Beth Moore says that she believes that America is facing a “reckoning” from God because America has used God and the Bible to sin.”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  Moore began her career as a small-group women’s Bible-study teacher. Fair enough, though the Bible says that women should remain silent in Church, no sane-minded Southern Baptist would have argued in favor of women preachers, especially those who teach men until recently…. America Dealing With Insurrection, Not Media-Described Unrest

The visceral hatred of the “Resistance” toward the president has shifted to the hatred of the 63 million who voted for America’s 45th, and the hatred won’t stop until they get their way.

(Judi McLeod) June 2, 2020: Americans woke up this morning following the seventh consecutive night of looting, rioting; injured citizens and injured police officers trying to protect the wanton destruction of small businesses, including some of those operated by minorities—all media-described as “unrest”.

But it is not “unrest” that Americans are waking up to this morning but galvanized “insurrection”—an organized and orchestrated insurrection at that. Continue reading

Our Exodus from Sin

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:1-4

Romans 6 opens with a powerful and profound rhetorical question that flows out of the apostle’s exposition of the doctrine of justification by grace through faith set forth in the previous chapters (especially 3–5). Paul has argued that God justifies sinners freely by His grace apart from their obedience to the Law (3:24–28; 4; 5:1–11). Continue reading

American Cities Take Double-Barreled Hit; How Will They Look in the Future?

Rod Dreher of The American Conservative wrote a post titled “The iPad Thieves,” which began with video of a Muslim-immigrant-owned computer store in Minneapolis being looted…before concluding with a look at the riots and looting in Manhattan. Dreher concluded, “When I moved to New York City in 1998, it was so, so common to hear people say that Rudy Giuliani, who had been elected in 1994, had made such a difference in the life of the city. ‘You can’t imagine what it was like before,’ they would say. That was a long time ago. Now, it’s back to the 1980s.”

(Ed Driscoll – PJ Media) The June issue of Commentary, likely assembled in early-to-mid-May, contained an article written by John Podhoretz and illustrated by Daniel Rose headlined “The Empty City.”… Continue reading

Carl Lentz’s Family Participating in Anti-Police Riots

Lentz proudly posted the video, taken by his daughter, on Instagram. Note that he calls the insane and ineffectual, hysterical ranting “preaching.”

(PNP) The hipster Hillsong pastor in New York City, Carl Lentz, is helping to contribute to the delinquency of his daughter by letting her take part in mob behavior and verbal assaults against the police. Continue reading

The Media Are Lying To You About Everything, Including The Riots

“On Sunday, as American cities were burning and looters were rampaging through the streets, Lemon implored America, “Open your eyes. We are teetering on a dictatorship.” He didn’t mean a dictatorship of the mob, which would have actually made sense given the facts. No, for Lemon and his CNN colleagues the real threat is Trump, who had the audacity to declare that if mayors and governors couldn’t get their cities under control, he would.”

(John Daniel Davidson – The Federalist)  It seems no great event or upheaval in our national life can pass now without the media lying to our faces about it. Continue reading

Mistaken Notions About Repentance

30 I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field, so that you will not receive again the disgrace of famine among the nations. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations. Ezekiel 36:30-31 (NASB)

The following is partially adapted from a sermon by C.H. Spurgeon titled “Mistaken Notions About Repentance.” Continue reading

The ‘Institutional Racism’ Canard

“As Heather Mac Donald relates in an insightful  Wall Street Journal op-ed, blacks make up only a quarter of the total number of people killed in police shootings annually, a ratio that has held steady since 2015. The reigning canard, however, is that this 25 percent figure proves racism since African Americans make up just 13 percent of the U.S. population.”

(Andrew McCarthy – National Review) About twice as many white people as black people are killed by police. In fact, in about 75 percent of police shootings, the decedent is not black.

Of course, that is not what you would grasp from consuming media. Continue reading

How Universities Inject Toxic Anti-Americanism Into Students

“Universities celebrate non-Western authors who attack Western Civilization. Throughout the latter part of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, the toast of universities, the recognized king of the new anti-American truth, was Edward Said, an immigrant from Egypt who claimed Palestinian ethnicity. Raised to a professorship at one of America’s elite universities, he used his platform to vilify Western Civilization.”

(PJ Media – Philip Carl Salzman)  Behind the anti-American hate seen in the current rioting, arson, and looting is the long term undermining of America carried out systematically in our universities…. Continue reading

The Passion Translation author’s heretical views about Christ’s return

“Brian Simmons– What about the clouds? Jesus is coming, Greek is meta nephele, He’s coming, meta nephele, within clouds. He’s coming within clouds. Not on clouds. Within clouds. Eight times in the Bible, CLOUDS ARE PEOPLE.”

(John Lanagan – The World Like Fire) An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And my people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it? (Jeremiah 5:30) Continue reading

Casting out Fear

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 19 We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:18-19 (NASB)

As God draws us out of darkness into a Spirit-led walk, we can still become discouraged or fearful when the fires of tribulation, tests, or trials come upon us. The move from walking according to the flesh to walking according to the spirit breaks those self-forged chains of bondage to our flesh that kept us mired in spiritual blindness…. Continue reading

Get Up Off Your Knees

“Turn off CNN and tune into the facts on the ground. At least 25 Philadelphia cops have been hurt during mob violence this week. It’s an all-out war on the thin blue line. At least 150 cops have been assaulted — four nearly murdered — in New York City as of Tuesday afternoon. Two Buffalo, New York, law enforcement officers were run over late Monday night. In addition, 51 members of the U.S. Park Police were injured; a Cincinnati cop was grazed by a bullet aimed at his head…”

Dear law-abiding Americans:

Police Officers Hit By Cars, Shot, Beaten In Numerous Cities On Monday Night Amid Violent Riots

Some of the most violent incidents happened in the Bronx. One of the most disturbing videos shows a police officer being run over by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

(Ryan Saavedra – Daily Wire)  Law enforcement officials were physically attacked in cities across the United States on Monday night amid violent riots. Videos of some of the attacks circulated online.

Among the attacks, was the shooting of four police officers in Missouri amid a protest-turned-riot that broke out in response to the death of George Floyd last week. Continue reading

The Lamb of God

29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29 (NASB)

In my Nave’s Topical Bible there is a subsection under “Atonement” titled “Atonement – Made by Jesus.” It covers half of page 85 and runs through half of page 88. I find it interesting that within today’s visible church there are way too many leaders who focus so much of their energies on trying to deny that the Lord Jesus’ substitutionary sacrifice on the Cross to atone for the sins of His people was the primary mission of His incarnation. Laura Ingraham: Violence Is ‘A Coordinated Effort to Eventually Overthrow the U.S. Government’

“Americans are loving people, but they’ve had enough. They had enough of lockdowns and now they’ve had enough of lootings. It’s time to defend our founding principles, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We do this with respect for our fellow man, with our love of God, and our belief in the inherent goodness of mankind…”

(CNS News)  Fox News’s Laura Ingraham lives in Washington, D.C., and on Sunday night, she said she witnessed some of the rioting, including the arson at the historic St. John’s church. Continue reading
