What In The Wide World Is Going On With The Southern Baptist Convention? (Republishing with the link)

“Why was David Hughes invited to speak to the Pastors Conference? Because a lot of the pastors attending want to be just like David Hughes. Or Steven Furtick. Or Andy Stanley. Or Ed Young Jr. Or Beth Moore. Or Bethel Church. They’re pragmatists.”

(Gabrial Hughes – The Midwestern Baptist) Perhaps you heard the sound of a massive creaking ship rocking the online community, and you turned in your boat to see a commotion aboard the U.S.S. Southern Baptist Convention. That’s because on Monday, the Pastors Conference, which precedes the annual convention held in June, announced the line-up of speakers who would be addressing the ministers attending this year’s event in Orlando. And that line-up is a mess, to say the least. Continue reading

Rush Limbaugh, my loving brother and ‘a friend to countless Americans’

When I read or hear the haters talking about Rush, his show, his message, his soul, I realize I inhabit a different universe than them. They distort who he is, what he says, what he stands for, the kind of person he is. … Their antipathy is disturbing. They actually wish him physical, emotional and spiritual harm. “I’m rooting for the cancer.” “I won’t be happy until he’s until he’s screaming in agony 24/7.” Lovely. … As passionate as I am about my own political beliefs, I never wish harm on those who disagree. If anyone needs prayers, it is them — and I mean that sincerely.

(David Limbaugh)  I am uniquely blessed to be Rush Limbaugh’s brother in ways too numerous to count, and I am blessed to be in the special position of witnessing firsthand the outpouring of love and prayers from his family, friends and fans. His wife, Kathryn, has been amazing and a rock throughout. Continue reading

Sweden: Gender Dysphoria in Teen Girls Cases up 1,500 Per Cent Since 2008

“Statistics show that those diagnosed with gender dysphoria are at much larger risk of suicide than the general Swedish population. Of the 6,334 people diagnosed with gender dysphoria since 1998, 21 men and 18 women have committed suicide.”

(Chris Tomlinson)  Breitbart)  The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare has claimed that the country has seen an enormous surge of gender dysphoria cases in girls aged 13 to 17 since 2008.

Newly diagnosed cases in the 13 to 17 age bracket have gone up 1,500 per cent, while the number of cases for other age groups has also seen a significant rise as well, with experts not knowing the root cause for the increase in overall numbers. Continue reading

A Letter to the Church in Philadelphia

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: Revelation 3:7 (NKJV)

One of the big errors of our time in the visible Church of the 21st Century is the misguided concept that truth is subjective. In other words, truth is what you want it be. This concept is, of course, simply borrowed from the world, which loves it. While I do not contend that I know when our Lord will return, I do know that it will be at the end of this age prior to the age to come…. Continue reading

Boys Competing With Girls Won Track Meets. The Girls Just Filed A Lawsuit In Federal Court

I knew that I was the fastest girl here, one of the fastest in the state. I remembered all my training and everything I had been taught on how to maximize my performance … I thought of all the times that other girls have lost. I could feel the adrenaline in my blood and hope that wafted from me. That just possibly, I could win this. Then, the gun went off. And I lost.”

(Hank Berrien – Daily Wire) On Wednesday, a lawsuit was filed in federal court by three high school girls and their mothers against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC), which has permitted boys to compete in events and win awards that would otherwise have gone to girls. Baptist University Invites Native American Mystic to Preach, Opens and Closes With Prayer to ‘Mother Mystery’

“Nowhere in any of Curtice’s works or writings does she show one iota of understanding of the biblical gospel. Of course, we should not expect a Catholic to understand the gospel as the Catholic Church’s gospel is false. Yet, even in the spiritual blindness of the Roman Catholic Church, many Catholics still have a good grasp on general revelation, morality, and general common sense.”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  Baylor, a private Christian university located in Waco, Texas, is known as the largest Baptist university in the world with approximately 17,200 students on its 1,000-acre campus and is affiliated with the Texas Baptist Convention, which is subsequently connected to the Southern Baptist Convention. The Throne in Heaven, the Scroll, and the Lamb

1 In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” 4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. Isaiah 6:1-4 (NASB)

Any form of Christianity that is antinomian is Gnostic in nature and because of that always leads to licentiousness within the professing believers where this is going on. The Nicolaitans taught this form of Gnosticism saying that God is Spirit and so Christians should only be concerned with the spiritual things, but it does not matter what Christians do in the flesh since it is defiled anyway…. Symptoms Of Sickness In The Megachurch System?

The organization confirmed the allegations of spiritual abuse in a statement to CT. “A little over two weeks ago, the Board of Acts 29 was made aware of some accusations of abusive leadership against our CEO Steve Timmis…”

R. Scott Clark of The Heidelblog posted two disturbing stories in the news.  He begins with a story published over at Christianity Today***:

As CEO of Acts 29, Steve Timmis was an effective and respected leader. During his seven years at the helm, the church planting network rebounded from the fallout around its co-founder Mark Driscoll and expanded from 300 mostly US churches to 800 around the world. Continue reading

This Year’s SBC Pastors’ Conference to Be a Literal Circus With the Speaker Line-Up

“Of course, this is just part and parcel for this church and it regularly practices this kind of nonsense as part of its routine worship service. One can only imagine the joy on God’s face as he looks down upon this performance taking place in what is supposed to be holy ground. That someone with this kind of perspective on the Church has been chosen to teach, lead, and encourage thousands of Southern Baptist pastors is astonishing.”

(Jeff Maples – Reformation Charlotte)  David Uth is the lead pastor of FBC Orlando and was chosen to head up this year’s Southern Baptist Pastors’ Conference…. Continue reading

Charismatics Are Date Setting Doomsday Again, Claiming Asteroid Will Hit in 2029

“What Strang doesn’t tell the his survival-food-bucket customers is that Apophis was discovered in 2004 and only briefly caused a moment of consternation when it was initially estimated that it had a 2.7% chance of hitting Earth in 2029.”

(Pulpit & Pen)  Stephen Strang, the publisher of Charisma Mag and prominent mover-and-shaker in charismatic media (he set up Relevant Magazine for his son to run, as well), is hypothesizing in his publication that the Bible might just predict an asteroid will hit the Earth in 2029. If you listen to Jim Bakker, who Strang also regularly features, we won’t be around to see it because the Tribulation started years ago. Continue reading

Swarms of Locusts Sweep Across Africa: ‘Most Devastating Plague’ in Memory

More than 10 million people affected by food insecurity are under threat, says the UN. The world body’s humanitarian chief, Mark Lowcock, says the insects appear to be “the most devastating plague of locusts in any of our living memories if we don’t reduce the problem faster than we’re doing at the moment.”

(Rick Moran – PJ Media)  Billions of locusts are swarming across East Africa, eating everything in sight and threatening to cause starvation in a region already affected by extreme hunger. Continue reading

Ungodly Focus

6 Then Israel said, “Why did you treat me so badly by telling the man whether you still had another brother?” Genesis 43:6 (NASB)

Unforgiveness is poison for the Soul as it ensnares those who refuse to forgive by binding them into the prison of bitterness. This world is not a peaceful, easy, benign place. It is fallen. The world system is the product of Man’s rebellion against God. There is war. There is crime. There is oppression. People wrong other people…. Continue reading

Kicking the Can Down the Road: Why The RCA Cannot Have Unity If It Disagrees On Homosexuality

The sexually immoral in 1 Corinthians are to be put out because Paul had “already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing.” There is a similar theme in 2 Thessalonians 3:14, “If someone does not obey what we say “… take note of such a person, and have nothing to do with him.” Though this should be applied pastorally and wisely, two things are clear. Sexual sin is a primary issue of fellowship and false teaching on sexual ethics is anathema to the gospel because it leads people astray.

(Ron Citlau – The Aquila Report)  Steve Mathonnet-VanderWel has written an essay about the process unfolding in the Reformed Church in America (RCA) titled, “Moving the Goalposts and Kicking the Can”…. Continue reading

SBC Leader Implies ‘Cradle to Grave’ Socialism is Part of ‘Pro-Life’ Position

Notice that liberals put the word “radical” in front of something when they want to redefine it (for example, Rosaria Butterfield calls her LGBTQ inclusivism “radical hospitality”). In the same breath, Akin goes on to use the catchphrase, “from the moment of conception to natural death.”

(Pulpit & Pen)  We have gone to great strides to detail how the Democrat leader of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), Russell Moore, has attempted to redefine what it means to be ‘pro-life.’… Continue reading

Therefore Do Not Be Afraid

28 And do not be afraid of those killing the body, but are unable to kill the soul, but fear instead the one who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 (translated from the NA28 Greek text)

In this post we will look at Matthew 10:16-33 which is part of our Lord’s instructions to His disciples as He prepared them for what was coming when they were eventually sent on their worldwide mission to the Gentiles. They had to understand that persecution would inevitably accompany their mission wherever God sent them. Continue reading

The RCA Needs a Miracle: A Reflection On What Is Needed For 200 Churches Not To Leave The RCA

“For the last decades the RCA has been unable to clearly state its thinking on gay marriage, gay ordination and gender identity. The majority believes in a traditional and historic view on these matters while the smaller minority has embraced gay sexuality as a gospel good that should be celebrated. The tensions are high and everything is coming to a head. The denomination needs to be clear about what it believes. There can be no more waiting. If things are left unchanged, there will be a split.”

(Ron Citlau – The Aquila Report)  In January, a group of Reformed Church in America (RCA) leaders met to pray and consider the work of the 2020 vision team, the future of the RCA and the upcoming General Synod…. Continue reading

Jordan Peterson underwent ’emergency detox’ in Russia, spent month in ICU, was suicidal, now ‘on the mend’

Clonazepam, brand-name Klonopin, is a benzodiazepine (tranquilizer) used to treat anxiety and panic disorder.

(Adam Ford – Disrn)  Popular author and intellectual Jordan Peterson has spent a harrowing number of weeks trying to detox from a physical dependence on the benzodiazepine clonazepam and has had a severe “paradoxical” reaction to the drug, made worse when trying to remove it. Continue reading

My New Life After Transgender Despair

“New to identifying as a woman at that stage of my life, but indoctrinated by the peddlers of transgender ideology to believe I was one, I incorrectly believed that gaining access to female bathrooms was a human rights issue for me.  I was wrong. In hindsight, it was all part of a selfish quest to nourish my long-held sexual fantasy of being a woman.”

(James Shupe – The Daily Signal)  Last December, I received an early Christmas present that I would have rejected just one year earlier: an “M” for “male” on my driver’s license. Continue reading

Is It Time to Call Democrats ‘Evil’? You Decide

“I’ve saved the worst for last. The bill is retroactive. It allows anyone and everyone ever before deported to come back — as long as they would have been eligible under the provisions of the new law.”

(Wayne Allyn Root – Townhall)  I’ve tried in my career as a conservative commentator to rarely use the word “evil.” Disagreements over policies and agendas don’t make your opponent “evil.” As a matter of fact, most reasonable, common-sense Americans want compromise.

But what if I were to report that Democrats are extreme, radical Stepford wives trying to destroy America, American exceptionalism, capitalism, the U.S. Constitution and the middle class? Some of you might say, “Wayne, you’re exaggerating.” Continue reading

Sanctified Minds and Bodies

3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (NASB)

I was a teenager in the 1960’s. That period has often been called a time of the beginning of a great sexual revolution. I remember that time as magazines and movies becoming more and more open about nudity and sex…. Continue reading

But We Have the Mind of Christ

14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. 15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (NASB)

In our continued look at the growing apostasy within evangelicalism, the more we dig, the more we are finding that those whom we have been suspecting of compromise for some time now, actually have been on that path longer than we suspected. I believe that we are just now discovering this for two reasons…. Continue reading

James Dobson on Super Bowl sleaze: ‘Have we lost our minds?’

Dobson asked: “Parents, are you content to allow your children to be swept into this abyss? How many of you sat open-eyed and close-mouthed as your children partook of this sex-saturated show? How many of you are allowing your children to adopt an unhealthy and dishonoring view of women and sexuality? The Bible proclaims that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image, created for relationship with our Creator. That message isn’t coming from our society… is it coming from you?” Dobson challenged.

(WND)  Evangelical Christian leader James Dobson says it’s time for parents to stand up against the kind of sleaze displayed during the Super Bowl halftime show. Continue reading
