Final synod document expected to mention female deacons

“This week has witnessed a surge in discussions surrounding the possibility that, as a result of the synod, women may be ordained as deacons, which means that they would be able to preach, distribute the Eucharist and officiate at weddings, baptisms and funerals. Deacons may not hear confessions or consecrate the Eucharist.”

(Pulpit & Pen)  When Dr. MacArthur told Beth Moore to “Go home” and stop preaching over the weekend, the audience laughed. Some people were infuriated not by the comment itself, but by the laughter of the audience.

For several years after my wife and I left our old church in 2006  because it went Purpose Driven we were no longer part of any Southern Baptist Church. We still attended church, but where we lived at that time (Johnson County, Kansas) the Church options were very limited. In any case, in the last couple of years we were there we were part of a wonderful church in Prairie Village, Kansas pastored by Rick Holland. It was like having John MacArthur preach every Sunday. Of course, Pastor Rick came from Dr. MacArthur’s staff at Grace Community Church. Being part of that church and having a pastor like Rick was one of the hardest things to leave when we relocated to OKC in December 2012. Continue reading →

Paula White’s new book ‘Something Greater’ is revealing, disturbing and depressing

As previously reported, endorsements for Prosperity Pastrix Paula White’s book came from pastors Franklin Graham, Robert Jeffress, Greg Laurie, Jack Graham and others in the Evangelical Industrial Complex such as Jerry Fallwell Jr. and Ralph Reed. When the evangelical community got wind of this, a flood of protests were tweeted out which caused some of the above mentioned to quickly delete their Twitter endorsements of the book. However, one of President Trump’s spiritual advisers, Robert Jeffress, actually defended his endorsement. It is deeply troubling to find out that our highly regarded evangelical leaders are sorely lacking in spiritual discernment. Anyone who takes a few minutes to  research Paula White will discover that her mentor is none other than prominent Word of Faith heretic, T.D. Jakes (here).

As reported by Yahoo.com, a Disney spokesperson has confirmed that two characters in the animated series Star Wars Resistance – shop operators Orka and Flix (pictured) – are “gay.” That report quotes executive producer Justin Ridge saying: “I think it’s safe to say they’re an item. Large Southern Baptist Church Leaves Denomination Over Its Support of Beth Moore

All people are born dead in their trespasses and sins. (Ephesians 2:1; Colossians 2:13) This condition of spiritual death also means that each person, though desperate for fulfillment that can only be satisfied in God, cannot come to God, know God, or even seek Him. Because of this, they pursue fulfillment from everything around them. The number one method of doing this is via the flesh. The flesh is all about self and self-gratification.
